10 things tuesday

what are your 10 things?

Re: 10 things tuesday

  • 1. We went to the bank yesterday and got pre-approved to buy a house!

    2. I then spent the rest of the afternoon gloating to C about my credit score being higher than hers (just a few points! LOL)

    3. We've emailed a realtor to set up viewings of the townhouses we are interested in.

    4. Back to work today... Not fun getting up this morning.  Treated myself to dunkin donuts when I got to work.

    5. I'm working today, tomorrow and short day on Thursday.  It is going to be deader than dead.  The phone is not going to ring.  Almost everyone is on vacation.

    6. It's going to be 10 degrees tonight. Not looking forward to my walk to the bus at the end of the day!!

    7. We took down our (dead) Xmas tree yesterday.

    8. Oh my goodness! Someone's phone just rang!  It was an internal call...LOL

    9. I'm not too enthused about the lunch I packed...

    10. I think it's time for a snack.

  • 1. Our mini-vacation was a bit of a disaster.  Sick kid, kids acting like wildebeests, grouchy wife, traffic...I was glad to get home.

    2.  I can't shake this headache I have. I am hoping the copious amount of water and 3 Motrin will help. The mocha didn't.

    3.  I don't know if I should take Carter into the doctor in the morning. He's been coughing for a few days, has had a fever off and on (not consistently), runny nose (clear), and lethargic.  I think it is just a cold - but I wish there was something stronger to give him for his cough since it is keeping him (and us) up all night.

    4.  Grayson got his scooter taken away from him last night for being a punk.  Our poor babysitter. I am hoping he is nicer to her than he has been to us recently.

    5.  I tried to do a calender for the ILs with all of the family (4 families - 25 people total.)  I put out an APB in OCTOBER for pictures. After several calls/reminders, 99% of them were from cell phones and totally unedited. (red eye, wrong way, etc.) I gave up and am just trying to put a picture of everyone on their respective b-days. Not hard, right?  Well, it wouldn't be if people would send pictured of ALL of their children. This is the last year I am doing this.

    6.  It is miserably windy and cold. The wind was so loud, it woke the kids during the night.

    7.  I really like playing tennis on the Wii - good way to get out aggression!  But I need some new games since I am not that into the rest of the sports on Wii Sports. I think we'll get Mario kart. Other suggestions?

    8.   L gave me a necklace for Christmas and Carter asks no less than 20x a day, "You like your necklace, Mommy?  I help pick it out!"  Be still my heart.

    9.  Carter cannot understand why Christmas is over. He LOVED Christmas this year and was so sad when we put everything away last night and took the tree down. He was asking this morning when it'll be Christmas again!

    10.   I am ready for spring, please.

  • 1) i had a cranberry bagel this morning and it was wonderful

    2) the past couple days were rough for me out of the blue.  fortunately today feels much better.

    3) i think my little boy is coming down with a cold.  ::sigh:: my LEAST favorite thing about preschool. i'm praying the baby doesn't get it.

    4) my wife is an amazing mother. and since becoming a mother, she's become an even more amazing wife.

    5) aside from handy manny and little einstines I don't watch tv any more.

    6) Rosebud has grown so much in the past week and a half.  i swear she's doubled in size, but i'm prone to exaggeration.

    7) i think i'll pick up some meatballs for dinner.

    8) i'm not looking forward to NYE.

    9) Its kinda wierd, but some of rosebud's facial expressions remind me so much of SSG's Ella!

    10) as stroller obsessed as i was pre-kids, I've used the stroller exactly once.

i hear this! Sprout asks every night if santa is coming again. he also reads "the night before christmas" every evening before bed. lol.  we haven't dared to take down any christmas decorations - i'm sure he'll be upset when we do.

    1. After being at the in-laws for a week, I am so happy to be home.
    2. Not 15 minutes after we arrived home, I got my period. Sad
    3. I shed a few tears and then I poured myself a glass of wine.
    4. I don't want to be a negative nelly and I know the stats and that this was only our first attempt, but I can't help wonder what's in store for us.
    5. I'm in the office for a few hours today, but not officially back to work until Monday.
    6. I'm very excited for our little intimate New Year's Eve celebration. It will just be the two of us and I'm making some fancy appetizers, cheese fondue and chocolate mouse in champagne glasses.
    7. Our families got along really, really well. It was a wonderful Christmas.
    8. We had a great time celebrating DW's birthday with some of her friends from high school. We went to a fabulous wine bar and had tapas. Yummy.
    9. I was spoiled this Christmas and loved all my presents. Best gifts: new Coach purse, wallet, and notebook! I scored big time!!!
    10. I really missed chatting with you ladies while on vacation! I'm glad to be back.

    1. We went to the bank yesterday and got pre-approved to buy a house!

    Congratulations!! Let the fun begin!

    1. Our carpet is being installed today sometime between 12-4pm.

    2. Because #1 is happening so late in the day it's doubtful we'll get our furniture back upstairs tonight.

    3. #1 & #2 mean we'll be sleeping on the couch again tonight.

    4.  The carpet is our last major indoor house project!! Only 4 years and the house is finally done*

    5. *done is a relative term in our house.  K is already discussing new paint colors for her office even though it's been freshly painted before.

    6. The boss is taking the department out to lunch today. It's only Moe's but I'm still excited for a free lunch :-p

    7. I've been on hold with Best Buy for 15 minutes but the recording keeps telling me that the wait time is "less than 10 minutes."

    8. Because I feel the baby so much now, when I don't feel him/her I worry a bit.

    9. I totally failed on K's Christmas gift.  It was something she really wanted but it turns out it doesn't work with the rest of her stereo set up.  Unbeknown to us no company makes receivers with ground wires for record players any more.  And I specifically asked the sales rep that question!

    10. 19 minutes 47 seconds and counting.

  • 1. I'm TOOO excited that I have the WHOLE week off! Didn't have one day off from Thanksgiving to Christmas (except for the water heater fiasco. which didn't count as a day off).

2.Watching "Toddlers and Tiaras". I'm inot performing and all and am definitely no prude when it comes to costumes for kids but I think it's kinda creepy to see a 20 yr old face on a 7 year old body!!!!!!Huh?

3.I must be a big kid because I'm also sad christmas is over. I go through a small depression after New Years.

4.But one thing to look forward to is my anniversary in Feburary!

5.After the water heater fiasoc, we're thinking about MAYBE looking for a new apartment. Our lease is up on this one soon

    6. Can't believe I have to search for recital music for my students this week!!! Where does the time go??

    7. Hmmmm... 20 degrees outside. Definitely not leaving the house today!!!!

    8. OH! ok maybe to go down the street to the post office. Need to mail K's little sister's (very late) Christmas gift.

9.Looking at my dead Christmas tree and debating on taking it down or leave it till New Year's Day...

    10. DId I mention i'm off for the week... YAY!

    bummer :(  i'm sorry hon

  • 1. LMC also asked about Santa again. When I explained he had already come, she cried. She was much better when she saw that all the toys stayed though!

    2. I really want to go all out for our PBS' first b-day. It might be the only first birthday I get to throw and want it to be memorable.

    3. I have a lot of resolutions to make and keep this year.

    4. My cousin is TTC again, I think. I am happy for her but so incredibly miserable for me.

    5. I am on a cleaning and reorganizing mission. I guess I want to start the new decade with extra tidy closets, cars etc.

    6. Seeing my mom light up around the girls makes me so happy. The whole family is different now!

    7. I think we should start a PPP post, Petty Pet Peeves. It turns out, I have a million! :-)

    8. I am excited to play with my new toy, a Cricut! Thanks, mom :-)

    9. I keep dreaming about Follistim and Rosie O'Donnell, WTF?

    10. LMC and PBS are holding hands and walking around the house toegther, my heart might burst open from the cuteness.

  • 1. I should be cleaning my house instead of nesting.

    2. I should also be packing for our trip on Friday.

    3. Annie was being really good til I started typing - now she is fussing.

    4. We got a lot of loud toys for Christmas. Why are kids toys so loud? The low volume is still way too loud on most of them. Leap frog toys are the worst.

    5. This is a 5 things Tueday. Off to deal with fussy pants.

  • 1. My DD is ALSO having a very hard time with Christmas being over.  She keeps asking if Santa is going to bring more presents and when I tell her not until next year, the tears start flowing...sigh.

    2. My DD also keeps asking where are the gifts that were by the door of her preschool that were being collected for Toys for Tots.  She is sad every time I tell her that they gave them to the kids who need them...I think she thought they were going to hand them out to her school!

    3. I'm not sure that ANYONE is happy about how Christmas turned out.  My DP was upset that we didn't get to spend it at home all by ourselves with the kids (maybe someday) and therefore bailed on spending any time with my family since she was mad they essentially asked to spend the entire time with me.  My parents were mad that I chose not to spend Christmas Eve with them and my brother and sister-in-law, so I could spend time alone with my DP.  And I was upset that DP bailed and that my parents were being such manipulators--they pulled every guilt-trip card in the book but I did not back down.  Sorry that was long and ranting Embarrassed

    4. Because of #3 I am struggling with how to work out plans for all future holidays that I have my DD.  Is there ANY way to make it work???

    5. My DP made my parents a very cool photo box for Christmas and put a note inside promising we would send new photos every month for the next year to fill the box.  Yipes, I better get busy!

    6. My DP asked me to write a letter to each of my parents to put in the photo box about how they have been a positive influence on my parenting, memories of my childhood with them, etc.  We were all a bunch of bawlbags by the time they finished reading them.  Perhaps that has helped heal some wounds.

    7. Work is pretty quiet this week and making me unmotivated.  I should be taking advantage of the quiet time, but I just can't seem to get there.

    8. I just read an interview online with the author of this book about lesbian and gay parenting and now I want to read it.

    9. I am facing having a rather serious make-or-break conversation with DP this weekend and I am absolutely dreading it.  I am struggling to come up with the right words to say and I know I'm gonna be nervous as heck.

    10. I hope that the new year brings happy healthy babies for the expecting mommies and BFPs for the mommies who are trying!!!

    1. Watching C's body change with the growth of our two mustard seeds is the MOST AMAZING thing to me! I LOVE IT!
    2. I am in LOVE with the handful of stretch marks C has!
    3. Though my mother, daughter, and two of my nieces visited us for Christmas, it never really felt like Christmas.
    4. While at the airport yesterday, I cried as I watched the TSA employee wand my arthritic mom (who can barely stretch her arms out).
    5. C and I chose not to exchange gifts or cards this year; we didn't even buy each other an ornament. I don't think either one of us was sad about it.
    6. I am glad I am off on Thursday!
    7. Regarding #5, I don't think we were sad about not exchanging gifts because we are so grateful for the blessings C is carrying.
    8. I loved watching my mom rub C's baby bump.
    9. My daughter, C, and I took photos last night at BrU; I can't wait until my mom receives hers!
    10. I wish ALL OF YOU a VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR!

  • 1. My bff came down to visit yesterday and we had a great time.

    2. Early to work today to make my Thursday shorter.

    3. The office (whole campus really) is sooo slow. The three of us walked to the bookstore, bought bananagrams and played two rounds.

    4. My leftovers for lunch are better than what I could get on campus, and cheaper too.

    5. Looking forward to 2010 even though our NYE is going to be quiet.

    6. I'm going to be making curtains for the whole house. I really should get started before school gets crazy in a week or two.

    7. I can't decide what to make for dinner tonight. I need to know by 4pm so I can get whatever I need from the store on the way home.

    8. I want to have a housewarming party soon, but there's so much to do still!

    9. We're tentatively planning a trip to Europe for late June/early July. It will be a graduation/anniversary/consolation for not being pregnant trip.

    10. I wish I could do nothing but trip planning and decorating for a couple weeks, but school starts in a week and I still have work to do.

    1. The run-up to Christmas was so busy at work, I never got a chance to post and let you all know that our little girl is doing better. At our last appointment, the high-risk doc himself came in and re-did the measurements of her abdomen and got a much better result than the u/s tech had. Maybe all that eggnog and left-side sleeping really *is* helping! Smile
    2. Tomorrow is the first of our now-weekly NSTs (non-stress tests). I am looking forward to checking in on our babies more regularly from here on out.
    3. I am starting to get a little worried about our undone to-do list-- hospital tours, daycare tours, and choosing the cribs are just a few of the things that really do need to get done here pretty soon!
    4. It was wonderful having a house full of S's family here for Christmas.
    5. That said, I don't think it really "felt" like Christmas for any of us-- it was just so different for us all.
    6. I was awake from 3:30 am to 6:30 am this morning, and right now I feel like I'm about to pass out at my desk. If I weren't trying to save my leave for when the babies are here, I would go home right now.
    7. A friend of ours just very generously offered to come over and paint the babies' room... this upcoming weekend (yikes!). So we have to scramble and decide on paint colors sometime this week.
    8. I am glad S finally agreed to go to the doctor last week. She's doing much better now.
    9. It was so sweet to see my MIL kiss the babies goodnight. I'm glad she loves these kids.
    10. It has taken me 4 hours to finish my 10 things, lol!

    Awesome!  Grow girl grow!

  • 1. Alila is obesessed with me going online to buy infomercial things.

    2. I'm not so excited for NYE, another holiday with DW's family.  I wish we could do something alone, i.e. go dancing, a romantic night in, etc.

    3. Yesterday DW and I knocked down the top half of the tree that snapped in half on Halloween.  It's full of honeycomb but we can't eat it since we had the exterminator spray it for bees. Sad

    4. We drove to the snow today and had to turn back because the car started sliding on the road.  We need new tires.

    5. Alila is getting baptized on Sunday and I'm nervous, I don't know what I have to do during the ceremony.  Worst of all, I have to present her as a single parent since the Catholic church doesn't recognize gay couples.

    6. The church we are doing the baptism in is the first church established in Los Angeles and it's absolutely beautiful. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3356/3636638867_bc5e575442.jpg

    7. I broke the belt on the vacuum and have to vacuum with the hose only for now.

    8. We got an Entertainment book for Christmas.  How often am I really going to go through it to find a coupon?

    9. I bought snowpants today and have been wearing them for the last 3 hours that we've been home.  They are SO warm.

    10. I want to put Alila down for a nap so I can watch 2012.  Is that mean of me?
