When do you take your christmas tree/decor down?

We had just gotten our tree up and decorated last week so I feel bad taking it down so quickly. We may leave it up for another week or two. Anyone else keeping their tree up?

Re: When do you take your christmas tree/decor down?

  • DH took ours down yesterday.  I tried to get him to keep it up, but since we are going to be out of town he decided it had to go.  Bye Christmas tree.  Now my house looks plain.

Since you just put yours up I would totally leave it up.  Growing up we always kept everything up until after the New Year.

  • Mine went up the first weekend in December and it came down this past Sunday night. It was really dead and just annoying me. :)
  • We always take ours down about a week after New Years.  It became a tradition because we always put it up so late and hated to take it down so quickly!

  • I think we'll take it down friday or saturday...we don't have a tradition, it's just whenever I can finally part with Christmas. I hate when it's over!
  • We got our tree on Dec. 23rd :P.

We'll be leaving it up until after the weekend of January 16... we've got some family coming up and we're hoping to do a late Christmas with them.

  • We didn't have a tree this year since we were out of town, but usually I'm ready to take everything down the day after Christmas.

  • NYE Day - but I took it down on Sunday since I will be OOT this year.
  • Mine usually stays up until the Epiphany.

If I feel like I need it to come down sooner, then at New Years.

  • Whenever I put my nestie ornament away I'll be done putting my christmas decor away :)
  • I leave mine up 'til Epiphany.  Which is mid-week this year, so it will end up staying up until the weekend after.
  • I took all my stuff down yesterday.  We don't really have a tradition, but usually I do it the weekend after Christmas.

  • im going to take it down today... my cats keep climbing in our tree and tearing stuff down... its driving me crazy. i probably would have waited until this weekend though normally.
  • Usually around New Years.  For the first time I am eager to take the tree down as we are needing the extra space with our now mobile little girl!

  • We took ours down last Tuesday after Ben went to bed.  We left for TX the following morning and didn't want to have to mess with it when we came back.  It was actually really nice to come home to a clean house.
  • I don't take my stuff down until after New Years.
  • We usually take down decorations at some point the weekend after New Years.  I'm not in a big rush b/c I love the way our house looks all decorated.
  • We take the tree down on New Year's Day.  DH suggested taking it down early to make room for the NYE party we're having and it wasn't well received Stick out tongue

I take down all the xmas decor the same day but I leave up anything that can be considered "winter decor" like snowmen.
