Hi! I saw your post under the New Years Resolutions and I was wondering if you happened to go to the gym in the Winter Garden shopping village? I thought about joining that one this fall!
Re: 062307Bride
Nope - I go to Gold's Gym in Clermont. It's right by the Kmart on 50. It's $25 a month for me and it's a great place - there's a "women's only" section with lots of equipment and even a movie room with a whole bunch of machines to use while watching a movie. There are lots of classes that are included with membership and TONS of machines. I have some free trial passes if you want to check it out :-)
For some reason I always thought of Golds as being a gym just for male body builders, but that is really cool they have a separate woman's section! $25 is a really good price for a gym membership too. Are there different levels of membership?
Thanks for the offer of a trial pass! It will be awhile before I'm cleared to work out by my OB, but I definitely eventually want to look into it.
I think the pricing is different at different times of the year. My membership started higher, but I ended up getting a $5/month discount because I had a friend sign up within my first 7 days of being a member. This is only an individual membership - I have a friend that has a family membership and pays about $85/month (I think) for herself, her DH, and their 3 daughters.
The women's section is really neat - there are 3 different tvs in there with lots of equipment. There are TONS of tvs in the main room (each with a different channel) - the machines all allow you to plug in a set of your headphones and pick which channel you want to listen to. I haven't remembered to bring my headphones, but it sounds pretty cool.
I have friends that are members of the NTC gym (by the hospital) - they pay more, apparently there are less machines, but there is a pool. I also know people that go to the Lord's Gym which I think is cheaper, but not as many machines.
