Crock pots don't toast.

I fail to see how they are then superior to toaster ovens. I mean, sure, crock pots make more food, but no toast. How is EmilyKate making toast now? Is she heating up the whole oven? Did she invest in a set of Olde Englishe toastinge forkes, and is holding the bread over a stove burner?

Also, the new "roasting oven" doesn't toast, either, so I'm completely mystified. And why is she even trying to claim she's going to clean this thing? We all know better.

Re: Crock pots don't toast.

  • ALSO! I have a 2000 sf house, with a sizeable kitchen. I don't have room for yet another appliance to clutter up my counter space/bakers' racks/cabinets. I'm full up - and I try to only buy multitaskers. WhereTF is she going to put that stupid thing in that teensy apartment?!

  • They don't need toast. They just wait until their bread's good & stale if they want something crunchy.

She only uses her crockpot/roaster oven (now). She has no other appliances and she never uses her oven. She doesn't like it. Did you see her listing her pans that can go into her new toy?

    that.

I wonder which unfortunate relative will recieve her "gently used" crockpot as a Christmas gift next year?

  • You'd think someone in her situation would be immediately grateful for something like this. Why in everloving hell would she be planning to sell something on craigslist before she even bothered to open it?
  • Oh, snap!:

"Enjoy the new roaster. Maybe you can explore some healthy recipes with this that you weren't able to with the old crockpot?

This should be easier to keep clean too. If you wash it after every use right from the beginning the crud won't have a chance to build up."

  • Bmom, thank you for asking the toast question!
  • maybe she rubs the bread directly onto the heating element until it crisps up?

this is a hilariously dirty image.

  • it's like a dirty mad lib gone wrong.
  • You KNOW she's going to be bathing her kids (including Dan) in that roaster. On special days, she might even throw in some fizzy Therese water to make it bubbly.
  • She has a toaster. So if it doesn't fit in the toaster, do they not buy it? Not toast it? I mean, I can't put banana bread in the toaster slots, but it's so much better when it's crisp and buttered...I'm so glad I'm not missing out on all the little joys of life afforded me by virtue of my normality.
