Movie Reviews: Hangover and Inglorious Bastards

I thought the Hangover was funny, but not nearly as funny as everyone said.

Inglorious Bastards was good, gory, but I expected that.  Also not as good as everyone said.

Those are my opinions and not meant to offend anyone who thought they were the greatest movies ever to grace the big screen.  Joe Dirt is high on my list of "watch whenever it's on."

  • I thought The Hangover was funny, but not like everybody thought it was too. But I did love Inglorious Bastards. Brad Pitt trips me out when he plays roles like that one.

  • I giggled my way through the Hangover but I saw it in the theater. Sometimes I think movies are funnier on the big screen than when I rent them.

We watched IB the other night. I was disappointed in it. I was surprised by how "talky" it was. I guess I expected more action with the talking.

  • Same thing with me on the Hangover- I was laughing but not as much as I expected given all the hype.

    Haven't seen IB yet.

PS- Joe Dirt is one of my all time favorites, too!  That movie is quoted in my house way too frequently!

  • I concur on both accounts.

My only beef with Inglorious Basterds was that it totally lacked the classic Tarantino twist. It was about as straight-forward as they come.

I want to see it again, perhaps I will enjoy it more when I'm not waiting for something to zing me.

Maybe that's what it was lacking.  I loved Brad Pitt in it and thought it was a good solid movie, just not as great as I had hoped.  Maybe the twist was that they completely deviated from history on how Hitler was killed?

  • I haven't seen either, but want to. Thanks for the input.
