  • Woooohoooo!  I just got back in.  Nandi and I headed out to play at 2:30.  We came back at 3:30, and Jeff was home.  Apparently, everyone decided to bail so he came home early, too.  So we went back out for another hour.  : )  I am so happy that I got to see Christmas lights with snow on them.  That's one of my favorite things!
  • Snow is one of my favorite things in the world!!!! Leo and I went out, where he did his best sled dog impression. we were so happy to have all this SPACE to play in: the farm looks amazing. Leo is passes out cold now, and DH and I are enjoying hot chocolate before dinner. It was the best afternoon in a long time!

  • I love snow too....when I am home.  I did not make it out in time...work in Lloyd District ...left at 4....cut through Pearl District to get on 405 to 26....took over 1 hour but traffic not moving....I am now back at work and not sure when I will leave!!!  It took me 1 hour and 50 min to make the round trip of 6 miles.

  • I had to walk home because cars were backed up in the parking garage trying to turn onto the main road that was blocked.  My friend waited 90 minutes in the garage and barely moved, still several floors up.  So I just decided to walk.  Thank god we live close.

  • MrsJRD, if you live so close to work, why do you drive in the first place? Just wondering....

I was lucky to have the day off yesterday. I had lunch with a friend at Mingo in Beaverton and it didn't start snowing until after I got back home. We picked up DD at daycare in the afternoon and things were already pretty crazy. Luckily DH grew up in Bend and knows how to drive in the snow and we have a nice SUV with good traction. So we were fine. But we saw lots of people sliding around. We didn't have to get on any highways either.  This morning DH drove me to work as I'm a chicken when it comes to driving in the snow. But roads are pretty much clear. There was some slush in our street and in the street near work, but even there it was not too slippery.

I'm lazy. :)  No, I usually ride my bike but when the weather is crummy I don't like to bike/walk.  And a few days a week, I don't come straight home and require a car to get where I need to go.

  • I see. Like I said, I was just wondering. I wouldn't ride my bike in that weather either ;)
