My first Oregon snow! Woohoo! (but I hope my work is still open tomorrow...I don't want to use PTO!)

Re: SNOW! Yipee!!
MrsJRD, if you live so close to work, why do you drive in the first place? Just wondering....
I was lucky to have the day off yesterday. I had lunch with a friend at Mingo in Beaverton and it didn't start snowing until after I got back home. We picked up DD at daycare in the afternoon and things were already pretty crazy. Luckily DH grew up in Bend and knows how to drive in the snow and we have a nice SUV with good traction. So we were fine. But we saw lots of people sliding around. We didn't have to get on any highways either. This morning DH drove me to work as I'm a chicken when it comes to driving in the snow. But roads are pretty much clear. There was some slush in our street and in the street near work, but even there it was not too slippery.

I'm lazy. No, I usually ride my bike but when the weather is crummy I don't like to bike/walk. And a few days a week, I don't come straight home and require a car to get where I need to go.
