Controversial Poll: Obama's Press Conference Attire
President Obama held a press conference December 28th regarding the attempted airplane bombing. He was on vacation in Hawaii, and the PC was held three days after the incident. What is your opinion of the no-tie, unbuttoned shirt?

I didn't see the press conference photos, but it sounds fine to me. Has any other president worn a suit and tie at a press conference from Camp David or his ranch in Crawford?
ETA: I just googled it. The man was wearing a jacket and a button-front shirt! If he had shown up in a Hawaiian shirt or his golfing clothes I could see a problem. But I think a crisp black jacket and a crisp white shirt is perfectly appropriate.

I think his attire was fine, and wasn't offended in the least.
As for the Dad jeans I like those, I'm just happy he isn't wearing hunting attire or cowboy hats, those are not his style.

Plus he was on vacation - who brings a suit and tie to a family vacation on the beach?? Seriously...
Doesn't bother me. I work at a newspaper and remember seeing photos of Bush on vacation at his ranch in Crawford where he was wearing just a button up shirt, no tie, with or without a jacket, for a news conference or visits with dignitaries. He was supposedly pretty uptight about things being formal, too.
