Re: PCP/TTC/ATP Wednesday

  • I went in for a blood test this morning and will have an hsg test done next Wednesday. Looks like try #2 will happen next weekend. That's about it for us.

  • We are gearing up to restart trying in 2010 after 4 month hiatus.  Fingers crossed....
  • Reading my fertility book and my lesbian conception/birth book is on my New Year's resolutions list, b/c we've so been avoiding learning anything and the start-getting-preggers date (summer 2011) is now close enough that we need to start actually thinking about it and not just saving money. Not a very big update, hee. But it does feel like an important emotional step, for some reason.

  • We're still on break. I keep wavering on when I want to start and whether to move to the RE sooner rather than later. Right now I think I want to do at home in Feb and March, then either RE in April, May or just break until after our trip. My current insurance ends in August and even though it doesn't cover "infertility" it may still cover testing. I also have this crazy notion to have a discussion with C about the idea of getting licensed to foster.

  • Just getting bigger and feeling Henry move/kick/dance/karate-chop/whateverheisuptointhere(!) a lot!  We are also kicking the house-search into high-gear -- we decided shortly after we got our bfp that we wanted to make it a priority to buy a house and move before Henry is born.  As I mentioned in a post earlier this week, we are now preapproved to buy.  This weekend we are going to look at a few places. I'm so excited to make an offer and crossing my fingers that everything goes well!!

  • Nothing new. Still dealing with some annoying behaviors.  I think we are all ready for them to go back to school. Grayson thrives on routines and I thrive on him being exhausted at the end of the day so bedtime isn't a struggle. Stick out tongue

L's best friend's mother died this week and last night L said she sent flowers with a card that read, "From L, Alison and Family."  It just sounded so grown up.  That is how my parents used to sign stuff - and I was just "and family" - now I get my name and I HAVE the family. Silly - but it still sometimes strikes me that I have a FAMILY. You'd think it would sink in after 3+ years. :)

  • Not much for us this week.  I am paying off the little bit of debt we have so I can start putting money away for TTC.  We should be ready to start within the next few months.

DW saw a lesbian couple at work last night with 2 kids and another on the way, she said she is excited to be like that family. Smile

  • Not much here. Regrouping for next month and researching our options re: trying while on vacation (or just coming home early).  I should ovulate the last day or two of our trip, and neither of us want to skip a cycle, especially after last month.

Also trying to enjoy R's visit home.  It's good to see her, but she's still a teenager and I'm still her mom and... well, it's been tense a few times.  But mostly good.

  • Like Mrs._F's Henry our Baby A is kicking up a storm.  I love watching my belly conform into odd shapes as the baby moves.

The nursery furniture is now in the nursery although it's still in the boxes.  We may spend our new year's putting it all together :-)

  • Annie is going through a fussy period. Not much seems to make her happy. I am hoping it is just from all the excitement over the holiday with new people and new places and being all off schedule, or maybe another tooth.

Last Sunday Carol went to see her aunt whos granddaughter just had a baby. We were going though Annies old stuff to see if there was anything a baby boy could use. We had a whole bunch of the little kimono tops from when she was a newborn that I was throwing in a bin for the new baby. When I got to the last few I said to Carol " Are we really done with the baby thing?" She then told me I had better keep a couple "just in case" So who knows... maybe in a couple of years Annie will have a sibling.
