What are your New Years Eve plans?

DH and I have started a tradition of getting a room at an Embassy Suites Hotel...free cocktails and simple apps from 5-7pm and a great breakfast in the morning (included with the room).  We usually go out for a nice dinner, too.  Its nice to have some special "us" time after the holiday and get out of the house for a change of scenery in the bedroom.

Normally DH and I spend the night with friends, but this is the first NYE since my dad's death so my brother and I turned down all invites and we're spending it with my mom since we anticipate it being difficult for her.  We're having a nice dinner (filet mignon, wild rice, and artichokes), playing Beatles Rockband, and doing a champagne tasting.

We have friends coming to our house around 8pm for drinks and apps:  cheese fondue, onion dip, bacon fudge.  Pretty low key, but we like to spend NYE with others to celebrate.

It is our one year anniversary, so we are going to the venue our wedding was at for dinner, and then heading up to a hotel so that we can catch our 6 am flight to Jamaica...our anniversary present to each other.

I think that's really sweet of you both. I hope it ends up being the best night it can be.

We're low key usually and just spend the night as the two of us relaxing and eating yummy apps.

DH and I are gonna stay in, we got a lot to do in the am the next morning.  Neither of us can stay up passed 10 and never make it to the ball drop.  We probably will rent some movies, make some dinner and get some ice cream.

It's just the two of us this year so we're going to go see Sherlock Holmes and head to our favorite hibachi place for dinner.  Can't wait!

My SILs are supposed to be driving up to see our new house and we're just planning board games, maybe a movie, snacks and drinks. Yay! Then tomorrow we're off to meet our potential new dog!

Tonight, we're getting together with 2 other couples, eating pizza and playing games.  Pretty low key, but I can't wait to relax and have fun with my friends!
