New Year's Resolutions

I always make them - I just think it's a great way to start a new year, and I think that the desire and capacity to improve yourself is one of the best things about life. Do you make them? What are yours for 2010?

I love a fresh new year. I love resolutions!

This year instead of I will_____ I made a lot of lists. It's kind of like a schedule with time limits. I know I can do better in so many areas and these two little girls need me to be at my best so, bring on 2010 and the better version of me!

I haven't done firm resolutions for a few years, but during 2010 I want to work on getting healthier, graduate from grad school, save some money (not as easy now that we have a house!) and go on a trip with C.

1. To be the attentive, affectionate, compassionate, and understanding to C.
2. To listen with ears and mind wide open.
3. To love regardless of treatment.
4. To be gentle and patient.
5. To say hello to strangers.
6. To be sincere when I ask, "how are you today?"
7. To take time to converse when someone answers, "not too well."
8. To be a better daughter, sister, aunt, parent, friend and wife.
9. To show our kiddos the respect and patience all children deserve.
10. And above all else, to keep my heart open to God's Love, Peace, and Joy, while ALWAYS remembering that the Will of God will NEVER lead me to where God's Grace cannot sustain me.

I don't normally make resolutions but this year I have a few goals.

1. Train for a marathon until we start TTC.

2. Do at least 2 Kids Walks with DD to show her that charity is a good thing.

3. Save as much money as possible for TTC.

Like Joy, I don't do firm resolutions.  For 2010 I think I'm just going to go with the flow and focus on figure out how to be the best mother and wife I can be.

To finally get my house in order. We suffer from a bit of CHAOS syndrome.

To get my depression in check.

I'm not big on formal "resolutions," but for 2010, I really want to make sure that I take time to enjoy it.  We are starting out with a lot of big things - buying a house and moving, having a baby - but these are things we've been waiting for and looking forward to for a long time! So I just want to make a conscious effort to enjoy this year, in spite of any stress.

I tend not to make resolutions since I almost always break them and then just feel badly.
