Wedding Night Hotel/Spa

FI and I aren't taking a honeymoon in the forseeable future, but thought it would be nice to spend the wedding night in a nice hotel or B&B and get some spa treatments the next day. I thought about Lake Austin or Lakeway Spa, but the wedding is in Kyle, so that seems kinda far to go that night. Other places I've thought about include Driskill, Stephen F Austin, Mansion at Judges Hill, Inn Above Onion Creek. Anybody have experience with these places (especially if you got spa service while there) or any other recs?

Re: Wedding Night Hotel/Spa

  • no rec, but, SQUEEEEEEEE!!
  • Where is your wedding?  We got married at The Winfield Inn and stayed at their other B&B, Chantilly, on our wedding night.  It was great but they don't have all the resort type stuff like spa treatments.

  • I've stayed at the Driskill, and while it was nice, I didn't feel like it was super luxurious.  To me, the fanciness of the Driskill is more in their public areas.  I don't think they have spa services.

I've heard great things about the Inn at Onion Creek, though!

  • Barton Creek Resort & Spa in SW Austin is really nice. There is also the Lost Pines Hyatt in Bastrop which is super sweet. If you just want a posh hotel in the city and then go for some spa time the next day check out Hotel St. Cecilia, Hotel San Jose, or Kimber Modern - then you can head to Milk & Honey down on 2nd street (my all time fave spa - the Spa Partisan tratment is to die for there!)

  • Oooh... I like reddie's idea. Maybe I will steal that idea for a hometown vacation. (DH has informed me that we probably won't be going anywhere this year so he can save up vacation time.) I've also wanted to check out the Hyatt Lost Pines... I hear it's really nice.

  • I used to work at MJH, and the spa services are in-room. I loved our therapists, and would highly recommend them! Stay two nights, so you can have a leisurely afternoon of massages.

For a dual massage, you will need either the Governor's Chamber (a signature king room), room 212 (a premier deluxe), or 210 (a classic). These are the three biggest rooms in the place.

    Good luck choosing!
