when it rains, it pours...

need some good nestie vibes and prayers!....

Last night DH and I came back from a very exhausting trip to Pennsylvania.  Exhausting because we were there with his mom to visit his aunt Annette who is dying of brain cancer.  It was much, much worse than we thought, and very tough to deal with.  Then we get home, after waiting forever on the tarmac in Philly (worse airport ever!), and the A/C has died!  It has got to be 85 degrees in the house and I do not sleep well in the heat.  Lucky for us we rent our home from a friend who immediately called the repair people, who will be out this afternoon and hopefully can have it fixed quickly!  Thanks for listening!!!!

Re: when it rains, it pours...

  • Oh man, I hope things start looking up for you soon!
  • Wow - what a stressful trip...for so many reasons. It's great you were able to visit w/ DH's aunt. I hate that she's dealing w/ such a terrible disease though. And yes, Philly is not the best airport. I have always been stuck on the tarmac when flying out of there. Hope that a/c is back on soon - we had that prob only opposite w/o heat this past winter. At least the rain helps to cool the afternoon off a little bit. Good luck, hope things start to turn around soon :)

thanks!  the trip was hard for DH because he has never had to deal with sickness in a close friend or loved one.  The last time he saw his Aunt was at his brothers wedding about a year ago (she was unable to come down for ours in March, as she was diagnosed in January).  Her physical condition has deteriorated fast and she barely resembled the woman I met a year ago.   to come home to all of this was just a punch in the gut.

  • I am so sorry about your DH's aunt - we went through that with my grandfather and it was heartbreaking. Here's hoping you get your A/C fixed too - this is not the time of year to have that go out on you!

Sending good vibes and virtual hugs!

  • I'm so sorry that you and your DH are going through all this.  It's always hard when a family member is sick and to have something so frustrating like that happen in the middle of dealing with it just feels like a cruel joke.  Definitely the last thing you need.   I hope you can get your AC fixed ASAP.  Good vibes your way!  Smile
  • Thanks everyone!  It helps to be able to vent it out!
