Banfield Vet Clinic

Has anyone tried it?  I'm looking at the one on Elston for my new puppy.

Re: Banfield Vet Clinic

  • I haven't used them. I go to Family Pet, just off of Elston in LP.  I love it there, they actually treat us and our boys (cats) like family.  Ooohs and aaaahs from techs, and a vet who returns phone calls about random questions.  And follows up personally.

I found them through a combo of personal recs from here, google, and yelp.  They had sooooo many good reviews.  I think that I looked at Banfield (I could be wrong) but was turned off by some of the yelp reviews.  Again, I could have it confused with somewhere else, but the place I'm thinking of had reviews about being a bit of a factory, etc.  Not that it was a horrible place, just not what I was looking for.

     Good Luck finding a vet!

  • I took my little Gizmo to Banfield when he was a puppy. It was the worst mistake I've ever made. I would never recommend them to anyone.

They are way overpriced.?They gave him too many shots - that were unnecessary. I was there every week with him for a different shot and as a result he is terrified of the vet I now go to, who is wonderful. I finally asked another vet how many shots he actually needed and she said 3. I didn't trust them to do his neuter - even though I paid for it up front. It was cheaper to go with there "wellness plan" - I spent about $500 for his shots and neuter and didn't get a dime back. I go to my vet once a year for 3 shots and it costs me about $125 and his neuter was about the same.

The last straw was when he piddled on himself when we got there one week and that was it. I left and never took him back.

  • I have also heard bad things about Banfield and wasn't impressed when I went there once.
  • Thanks, all.  Looks like I'll try Family Pet!
  • I used to work at that Banfield while I was student teaching.  I would ask for either Dr. Enzmann or Dr. Glimer.
