Winter Classic

Who's going to be watching? I'm beyond excited to watch the Bruins play at Fenway. I wish I could've gotten tickets!

Re: Winter Classic

  • Me! That would have been super cool to go to.
  • I'm nice and warm on my couch, in my Mike Richards jersey! Let's go Flyers!

The cheapest tickets I saw were Green Monster seats and they were $300 a piece. Although that's not that bad, DH and I couldn't afford the $600 for the two of us to go.

Fenway is one of my favorite places, so going there for a hockey game would've been unbelievable. :)

  • Totally watching. Rooting for the Bruins because as a Rangers fan, I cannot root for the Flyers under any circumstances. This is definitely the best Winter Classic game so far - very fast-paced and physical.

I cannot wait until they have it in New York - I will sooo be there when that happens. It's only a matter of time.

  • Trust me when I say that it is nowhere near as cool as it sounds.  It will be freezing at the stadium and you would be sitting so far away that you wouldn't even be able to see the puck.  I went to the first one where the Sabres played the Penguins at Ralph Wilson.  It was snowing, cold, wet, and miserable.

I'm sure it's wet and cold, but I just love being at Fenway and where the park is so small, even the farthest seats aren't nearly as far as you would be in a football stadium.

They've already had one in New York -- the first one (in 2008), between the Penguins and the Sabres.

  • Should've been more specific - I meant New York CITY. :)

The many people I know who went to that game said that despite the weather, it was an awesome experience. If you're a big hockey fan there could be a blizzard going on and it wouldn't matter - an experience like that is priceless.

  • BRUINS!! :)

    Agreed. What a finish!!

  • Great game, happy for the Bruins, who I will go back to rooting against as we get closer to the playoff push and whenever they play the Rangers. :)

The way they announced Team USA was adorable at the end, and I liked how Tim Thomas was announced. Very happy for Callahan and Drury in making the team, as well as everyone who made it from the state of New York!

  • I watched up until the first goal then took my two youngest to the movies. My son stayed home and watched. I also taped it so I watch the rest tomorrow :)

LOL, I thought it was very cute too. The kids were cracking me up.

I went to the Bruins Legends charity game in the snow at Fenway on Saturday (the day after the classic), and it was amazing to watch hockey in Fenway!  Our seats were in a left field box, about 20 rows off the field, and they were amazing.  I wanted to go to the Classic SO BAD as a Flyers fan from new England, but tickets were just too expensive to justify, so we settled for the charity game the next day as the next best thing.  And it was cool to watch all the celebs and old timers play.  I was just psyched to go to a hockey game at Fenway.  We weren't cold, wet, or miserable at all, and we could see the puck and follow the game just fine.  The Classic probably would've been even better because the weather was beautiful that day.

It would obviously depend on your seats, though, and the seats that we had were probably going for $800ish a pop for the Classic, at least.  I was cozy in my living room under a blanket for the Classic and that was just fine with me.  Until the end.  It was a great game, though, I can say that at least.
