Dear People that Live Upstairs:

Clearly, being a clean person is something I can appreciate.  Especially living in an apartment, I too take great care to ensure my carpets are not disgusting.

HOWEVER, the vacuuming has GOT TO STOP.  Three times a week... no problem.  However, multiple times a day is going to send me over the edge.  I've counted so far today - three times.  THREE TIMES.  What in the world would cause you to need to vacuum your entire apartment three times in one day????  If you weren't aware - that powerful suction machine is oh so loud right below you.  How can you step so softly, yet vacuum like a maniac?

Please stop. Please Please Please Please stop.  Enjoy your Saturday, or if you can't do that - just start dusting.

Thanks.

~Your lovely, and oh-so-patient, downstairs neighbor.

Re: Dear People that Live Upstairs:

  • Wow, 3 times, who does that??  I have no idea what the neighbor above me does, he may be a pimp..  It's a single male with numerous women coming in and out at all hours of the day/night.  And, late at night or the wee hours of the morning I hear the bed hitting the wall followed by loud banging noises all through the house (that sound like someone is destroying the house) and one sound that sounds like a bowling bowl being rolled across the floor.  Then, after all that noise, he vacuums.  We've complained, the apartment has done nothing, so we just gave up.

  • Maybe they got rid of their Christmas tree and broke an ornament keep finding dry needles? That's the only reason I can think of to vacuum so many times without being crazy...

Hmmmm. This is a very good idea - and I think I'll go with this and give them the benefit of the doubt.  I never even thought of this.

  • My thought was Christmas tree -- lets hope there's no repeating of the behavior for another year!
