Mrswhites cruise/response to my passport post on the bump had me thinking.....when ever I look into cruises there seems to be an option of departing from Baltimore MD. Yet when I chose that port, nothing ever comes up.
Has anyone ever departed from MD? Is it only a summer port, or maybe cruises not going to the Caribbean?
Sorry if this seems silly, we have never cruised before but the idea of not paying airfare and just driving to MD sounds great!
Re: Cruises/ports
I believe there are cruises that depart from there but I don't think it's year round. Probably only during warmer weather. I know NYC has cruises that depart in April because my friends went on a cruise to the Caribbean then. I would assume that the DC one would go to the Caribbean too.

Carnival offers a few different cruises from MD. They go to the Eastern Caribbean and the Bahamaas.
Celebrity goes to the Bahamas and the Caribbean from MD;

Good friends of ours cruise a lot, and they drive down to either NYC or NJ and deport from there. They've been on Caribbean cruises from there, but you do lose time at sea because of the distance. I personally love sea days, so wouldn't have a problem with that.
