Mexican Restaurants?

I've been craving good Mexican food lately, we haven't found anything yet that was as good as our favorite place in the Midwest, El Camino, they had great food that was inexpensive and strong, delicious margaritas.

We've been to Cafe Sol Azteca (in Newton) which was good as well as the Cactus Club on Boylston, any others we should try?

Re: Mexican Restaurants?

  • Try Margarita's on Moody Street in Waltham. The food is good and the margarita's are great. My personal fave: The Russellrita!
  • Boarder Cafe-Cambridge

    Rudys -Teel Square Somerville?

  • where in the (boston) world are you?

...and I'm a buckeye too, btw!

  • Agave in Newburyport. Yummm

  • I second Agave and Margaritas.  I haven't been to Chipotle yet, but I heard it was great.

  • I LOVE Taqueria Mexico in Waltham. They only serve sangria and beer (no margaritas) but I think their food is much better than Margaritas.  It's also really cheap.  For more "upscale" Mexican food, I like Ole in Cambridge.
  • I always liked La Siesta in Winthrop and Masa has a mexican twist and is located in the South End as well as Woburn.
  • I love Cottonwood although we hardly ever get there now that we live so far from the city.  We go to Casa Blanca all the time ....there is one in North Andover and Billerica.  It is cheap and good.
  • While I am NOT a fan of Margherita's, I do love Taqueria Mexico a lot. It is so delicious. And the sangria is awesome.

And the Border Cafe rocks my world too :o)

  • Not sure exactly where in Mass you are, but here are my recs...

La Carreta in Nashua (there are also two more in NH). In my opinion, it's the best Mexican I have had in the states.

Border Cafe (Cambridge, Saugus, or Burlington) also has great food and drinks. They are a bit more Tex-Mex though. But very good.

I've never seen or heard of Taqueria Mexico in "the ham"! I'll have to check that one out.

Nope, it's not on Moody Street. It's on a little side street, it's very tiny inside too. http://www.yelp.com/biz/taqueria-mexico-waltham

     Definitely worth seeking out!

  • Thanks for all the recs!  I'll definitely have to try some of these out.  Some might be a little far, we live just west of the city, but they all sound delicious.

  • Not sure if people metioned Fajitas and Ritas (there are several locations) Alcapulco (several locations). I second OLE and border cafe
  • Margarita's in the Waltham is great during the summer with outdoor seating next to the river...but I miss Iguana...their food was way better, but Margarita's is okay, drinks are great though they do pack a wallop.  It was okay when I lived in the parking lot across the street, but a problem now that I live in another Framingham

  • Another vote for Border Cafe!

    Now I want to go...

  • Acapulco's in Quincy is great....I think there's one in Newton as well.
