Hello! I don't post on here much because I typically spend my time on the getting pregnant board.
Well, I got my BFP this weekend (new years day!) and need to head to the doc for proper care ASAP! My current female doctor I see for annual exams is an NP within an OB/GYN office. My thought is to call her and ask for a referral to an OB/GYN within that office but wanted to ask here first - is there a Madison doctor, a hospital or a group (Dean, Meriter, UW) that I should strongly consider? What was your experience like? Would you recommend your doc, or your hospital?
Thanks!!
Re: Need hospital or OB/GYN recos for Madison
Melius, Schurr, Cardwell is a great practice.
I would also recommend Dr. Megan Ogden at UW Health East.
I delivered at Meriter and was treated very well. I know others really like the St. Mary's experience, so I don't think you can go wrong with either hospital.
I also highly recommend Dr. Megan Ogden at UW Health East. I delivered at St.Mary's and had a great experience.
I delivered at Meriter and loved my experience there. I don't think St. Mary's is a bad hospital either. We're lucky to have such great hospitals in this area.I think the hospital you deliver at will largely depend on your OB. He/she may deliver at only one of the three.
I saw Dr. Jennifer Edwards with my first pregnancy and love her. She was on maternity leave with the start of this one so I'm seeing Dr. James & Dr. Thompson for OB care this time. They're all out of the UW Health Odana clinic. You might have a hard time getting in because last I heard, only one OB in the entire clinic was taking new patients.
Congrats on the BF!
Congratulations on your BFP!!!
I saw Dr. Kim Christopher Mackey for both of my pregnancies and delivered at Meriter. He is located at the UW West Clinic on Junction Rd, right down the street from Target.
He is extremely laid back, which I love. I am almost 29 weeks pregnant with #2 and since my pregnancy is "normal" he isn't making me come in every two weeks. Which is so nice with a 16 month old.
The only thing I am/was concerned about is that he might not deliver this baby or my first baby. It all depends who is on call the day I go into labor. He happened to be on call the morning my son was born.
You also switch off appts. with his NP, Melinda Rose and she is great as well.
Good Luck!
Congrats on your BFP! I don't have any experience with any Drs who would be good throughout your pregnancy, but I love my Dr at UW Health in Sun Prairie.
Also, I would recommend trying to deliver at Meriter because my friend is the charge nurse in the baby delivery area and she is awesome
