We have decided to switch to all eco-friendly cleaners. However, we have a large stash of traditional/chemical cleaners that have accumulated, including several unopened bottles, that we have accumulated over the last couple of years. What is the best way to deal with these in terms of environmental concern and/or not having the chemicals in our home?
Should we just use them up (there is probably a good 6mo-1yr worth for us)?
Give them to someone else that uses them? I hate to push things on someone that I don't want to use for health and environmental reasons, but if that person would go out and buy them anyway, it would reduce their use a little.
Take them to the household hazardous waste drop off? This seems like it may be overly wasteful, but I also don't know how they dispose of such things.
Re: What to do with chemical cleaner stash?
Tired after a long morning of hiking and swimming.
When we stopped using dryer sheets I gave the two boxes we had to my mom and sister. I kind of felt bad seeing as I decided to stop using them because of the chemicals...and then gave them to my family members but, they buy them and use them anyway.
I would either do freecycle, donate them to a shelter or something or give them to someone you know that might use them.
