So I am bored as hell and decided to lurk on the other boards, thanks to the "other boards" post.
I actually put my big girl panties on (eww I hate that word) and decided to post on one. ***Pat myself on the back*** The S&R board is great if you need a laugh, those ladies love to argue....very entertaining. I did get "flamed" on the Pets board the other day because I am a "bad mother"....so I haven't gone back yet. The "Trouble in Paradise" ladies are rather witty and love to post how all the posts on S&R are "SO stupid" etc and then the S&R ladies come find them and they have it out....they made me LOL. And then I lurked over to the bump board....they have a photography section which I found interesting for all you photography buffs.
But then I found the "pregnancy/miscarriage" board. Holy crap.....I just got done having a little sob fest. I used to work at Planned Parenthood for years and have a lot of experience with pregnant women/issies and families etc but it just hit me all of a sudden. I know miscarriage is common during your first pregnancy but now that I am married and think about babies now and then, I guess I am more "sensitive" and those ladies really hit that sensitive nerve. Phew.... Sorry I am just rambling on and on....I just needed to "type that out" since my DH is not home (4 day trip) and my dog cannot talk back.....well she can't speak English. And for the record I am a FABULOUS mother to my dog, so those pet ladies can suck it. ![]()
Re: Bored as hell.....
It's true about the Pet board. They yelled at me for using the term Beaglier for a Beagle/Cavalier Spaniel. I was thinking about adopting one from a condo neighbor, who introduced her as a "beaglier." I googled the term before I posted to make sure it was correct. When I posted a question about the possible Beaglier, instead of really answering the question, the Pet Board girls got snippy about my "unaccepatable" use of the term, stating that I should call the dog a mutt or a Beagle/Cavalier Spaniel. They claimed that using such terms as Beaglier promotes people to think it's an actual breed, and sends them to puppy mills looking for them.
That being said, if you're careful about you word things, you can get some good information from them. Some of them really seem to know their stuff about recommending foods, toys, etc.
