How was everyone's weekend?
Or for some, how was your vacation (lucky biitches..:-P)
Ours was good - Saturday we didn't really do anything. Yesterday we went running errands for ev ah. But we got a new door to the bulkhead from our basement, and I'm really excited about it. It's just a slab steel door, so we are going to paint it with chalkboard paint because it's in the part of the basement that will be the play area. Planning ahead a bit since the baby won't be able to use it right away, but we're still excited about it hehe.
Re: How was everyone's weekend?
My vacation was good. DH and I went to Montreal for NYE. The city itself is beautiful but I was not impressed by the hotel. It was a beautiful hotel but the service was awful. They made us feel dumb and that the hotel is not at fault for anything. Needless to say, we did not stay for the two nights we had planned. I never check out early but we were not having fun anymore.
NYE itself was great. We were right near the Old City and went to a few bars and had a great dinner. The festivities were at this old square and there were fireworks to ring in the New Year.
Saturday was not that eventful. Just did some errands around the house and that night we went to my parents house to play Seinfeld Scene It. And we won! :-)
Sunday was the busy day. We spent the entire day helping SIL and BIL at their condo. We helped them move their belongings in and DH helped install their toilet so that they can finally live there.
And now I'm back to work...
Hello!
I was on vacation since Christmas and it was awesome. DH had the week off too which is unusual and it was nice to just spend time at home. This weekend we stayed in since we didn't feel like dealing with the snow.
Our weekend was pretty low-key since it was DH's work weekend. I was able to do some cleaning, and we went to see a couple movies this weekend, Avatar and It's Complicated. Both were good.
I'm still "technically" on vacation, as I don't start school for a little while, and the grad school job I have runs on the academic schedule as well. But I'm hoping to get some thesis work done today!
Very nice! I am kind of missing the snow, but kind of not. I miss seeing it fall, but not it being on the ground, KWIM?
It is 20 degrees this week here though which SUCKS.
We had a very relaxing weekend- we have been with family nonstop for 2 weeks so we went out with friends for NYE then spent New Year's Day and the rest of the weekend just together, watching movies and cooking a lot of food!
I'm still feeling the effects... @_@
The snow sucked... it kinda kept me homebound for the entirety of the weekend itself, which put a damper on things I wanted to get done.
Is it sad to say that I was looking forward to coming into work today for no other reason than to get out of the house?
Chicago +
15 degree weather +
short silk bridesmaid dresses +
pictures OUTDOORS +
difficult bride +
delayed flight home
= would have had more fun digging out of the snow here
Is she INSANE?!
Tell us more stories.
Ugh, Rock! Outdoor pictures? Out of control.
Ugh, that's no fun! Were you able to do anything fun while you were there?
I better not say too much more about the weekend in case she decides to lurk (she's not a very active Knottie and I doubt would look for me here, but still). It wasn't horrible, but it wasn't the most fun event ever either.
We were just in Chicago over Labor Day weekend for another friend's wedding and did all our sightseeing and fun stuff then. This trip was all wedding-related.
That sucks that you didn't have a fun time, Rock!
And I think chalkboard paint is the best thing ever, jcam..if I could paint my whole apartment with it, I would.
My weekend was pretty mellow, Dh has the cold that I just got over so I was making him eat and drink and take vitamins. I had to work on New Year's Day and Saturday. On Sunday, we (the dog and me, Dh was banished to the house) played in the snow and then Dh and I went to Chili's for dinner just to get out of the house.
Oh, my goodness! If I was her BM, I would've told her exactly where she could go. My butt would have been inside, nice and toasty, when everyone else was doing pics outside. :-)
That sucks, sorry you didn't have more fun!
LOL! That would be hilarious! I do love it too though, we made one small chalkboard a while back. It worked so well! I'm excited to do the whole door :-)
hmm, forgot to post yesterday! today's a really slow day at work so I'm just killing time before zumba.
Weekend: we were in CT for NYE, went to a NYE party with my friends and then a new year's day party with my mom's friends, both very fun. In the evening we visited my grandma, which was... interesting. Saturday I went to get new glasses, then we came back to MA, and Sunday DH and I spent the entire day cleaning, and I went to pilates. It was all really relaxing, and now I'm really excited about getting our house set up- I want to skip work and just work more on cleaning (we didn't clean our bedroom or the office, and the sunroom is just a bunch of very neatly stacked boxes, organized by contents, and soon we need to clear out the sunroom to turn it into the elliptical room!)
