Greetings TN Nesties!
I'm planning to visit TN (Nashville Area) in March and hoped to get some recommendations from locals.
First of all, we love to try the local foods (pizza in Chicago, coneys in Detroit, chili in Cincinnati) so if TN has a dish they consider their own, I'd love to hear about it! We're very active so we like to get out and explore a little by hiking/trail running/biking- any recs for state parks or other areas for active recreation? We're not too into country music but we still want to experience the local atmosphere and culture so any recommendations are appreciated- visiting the Motown Museum in Detroit was the highlight of the trip even though we weren't very into that type of music so I'm sure we'll appreciate and have fun at country music attractions and venues. We also usually visit at least one art museum in every city.
I'm in the very beginning stages of planning- I'd really appreciate any advice, suggestions, tips or recommendations you can pass along! TIA!

Re: Question from a Visitor: Looking for Nashville Recs
I hope you enjoy your visit to Music City! Nashville doesn't necessarily have a signature dish, but you are in the South, so you have to try a meat and three. I recommend Puckett's in Franklin (which also has a lovely historical downtown area you can stroll around in) or the Loveless Cafe. Both are very laid back and have good food.
As far as state parks, if you have the time, I highly reccommend Fall Creek Falls. It is GORGEOUS and one of my favorite hikes in the area. If you don't have the time, try Edwin Warner or Percy Warner. They are both nice and have nice trails.
If you want to enjoy some of the local music, you need to check out Printer's Alley (downtown), which has a plethora of little *** tonks. Then, there is the historial Tootsie's and also the Bluebird Cafe. If you really want to go old school, grab some tickets to the Grand Ol' Opry or to a show at the Ryman Auditorium (used to be a church so the acoustics are incredible).
As far as other interests, there is the Nashville Symphony, the Frist Museum, Bicentennial Park (nice place to just have a picnic and relax). And don't forget to have breakfast at the Pancake Pantry. You might bump into a country music star while you are there! hee hee
Hope this helps!
