And put some Yellow roses somewhere in there...
Re: IS SPRING HERE YET????
I can't wait for spring either. Most of my gardens are already planted. I planted 80% of what I wanted last fall, because I had a lot of bulbs, like tulips, lilies, daffodils, etc.
I'm just waiting for spring to do my herbs and veggies. I'm also waiting for spring so I can sit outside and just soak up some rays. I'm getting the worst case of cabin fever. I have pink eye, and other than the doctor's office and Walgreens, I'm not supposed to be going out of the house. I'm so tired of being stuck inside all the time.
I was all about spring until these chilly freezing temps hit my area. AGH!
My daffodils are starting to push through the mulch! Of course, not that anyone else can even notice them, but I still walk around my gardens during winter. You can see a little green leaf tip poking through.
As for planting things, I need to see how my plans worked first. I'd love to buy some stuff, but I did a lot of fall planting and moving, so I have to see what my beds look like. I do still need about 3-4 Happy Returns daylilies to plant around my dining room bay window. I transplanted some lilies under the window since the hydrangeas I planted there don't like the area. I figured the lilies will appreciate the sun there more than the hydrangeas.
No kidding....how depressing that it is only the beginning of January and I am sick of winter already. Please get me to March when I can see my bulbs popping up!
We have a LOT of garden work to do this year. We just bought a house (fairly NC), so the front landscaping, although somewhat respectable for a builder's-grade garden, is blah. WAY too many daylilies. So, we are going to put in two small stone walls, expand and make new beds. Plus, I want to put beds down the sides of the house so I can transplant some of the stuff from the front to the sides. Plant a few trees, move some other young trees. AND I want to build a raised veggie bed behind the garage! That does not even include buying new stuff to install in the front.....which I will mostly buy on sale next fall!
That's not too much stuff, right?
