Cosmetics database out of date?
Does anyone know how often the cosmetics database updates? I only ask because I was searching through old posts and found one about makeup. I decided to look into the products I was using (primarily Tarte) and found their listing, and was shocked to discover that they had such a low rating - even more so to discover that the low rating was due to paraben content.
I've contacted Tarte directly (about 6 months ago) about this issue, and they assured me that there are absolutely NO parabens in their product, so I'm a little confused as to why the database would still list Tarte as containing them?
Any suggestions?
Re: Cosmetics database out of date?
The Cosmetics Database is run by a fantastic non-profit organization called the Environmental Working Group, www.EWG.org. So how often the database gets updated is directly proportionate to how many donations they receive. I would e-mail them about your particular cosmetic and include a donation.
