RP: going rate for babysitter in INDY
We are going to have a babysitter watch our dd. Our daughter is 3 1/2 years old. Babysitter is going to watch her on a saturday night from about 4pm-10pm. We are going to order a pizza for dinner for them (so babysitter won't need to worry about making dinner). How much should we pay per hour?
Re: RP: going rate for babysitter in INDY
I guess it depends on how old the sitter is- what time your dd goes to bed, whether the sitter will need to bathe her or anything like that.
We have two girls who are young teens- like 13, and the sit for DD together- only for short periods. One night while we went to a concert, so it was 5 to about 11pm and I bought dinner for the, they didn't have to bathe DD and she went to bed at 8- so they got to watch tv the rest of the time. I paid them $20 each. But if it had been someone in their late teens, or early 20s- I would have paid that much to one person (the $40, that is). So I guess that's like $6.50/hour +dinner. If I expected them to bathe her, I'd go a little higher- probably another $1/hour.
