V-Day Gift for Him??? He's more sentimental than me....

What should I get my husband for V-day? He is way more romantic than I am. I'd rather not get him something hobby-related but rather more sentimental. He's way more into romantic things than me. I've set us up for a couple of things at the spa on V-day and we're leaving for a week in Mexico the day after, so preferably something small and sentimental, not neccessarily valuable. It's so much harder to buy something thoughtful (but not neccessarily hobby/interest related) for a guy....flowers, chocolate, or jewlery would be a little too weird.

Re: V-Day Gift for Him??? He's more sentimental than me....

  • Last year, I made a really big collage for my FI of pictures of us over the years (we've known each other 7 years and have been together for over 5) with little notes and anecdotes about each picture and little reminders about inside jokes and whatever. It took me a few hours to go through all the pictures of us, our families, and our friends, and to put it all together, but it was so worth it and he really liked it. I hope that helps! I'm trying to figure out something to get my FI this year for V-Day as well!

  • I plan on getting my H a bottle of Aberlour A'bundadh. Before we got married, we spent a month in Germany and we were over with some family friends who whipped out this bottle of special sauce. DH swore up and down it was the best whiskey he'd ever tried and it was overall a really nice evening.

So, on that vein, pick a good memory and buy him something that might remind him of it. Some food that you can't find just anywhere, something he may have oggled in a shop window during a vacation...that kind of thing.

  • For Christmas I actually got my husband a shutterfly photo book of pictures from our honeymoon that had little captions on each page and he loved it! He is a sentimental guy to some extent, but he usually prefers "useful" gifts so for him to like it was a nice surprise! You could do pictures from all the special moments you've had together. Just go to shutterfly.com It's pretty easy. All you have to do is download the photos in and the website automatically arranges the pictures into the book for you.

  • My husband and I aren't gift people, but lets keep this simple.  Men are pretty simple, why don't you just dress up for him and give him a good strip tease?  That is definitely memorable and what man will say no to sex.

  • I'm guessing sex is a given so I won't say that. I like to send DH e-greetings. They are fun and he appreciates them. What about a nice love letter telling him how much you respect and admire him as a husband and father? My husband loves that type of thing. GL! I wish my DH was more romantic!
  • My husband doesn't care for this stuff but I do.  Last year I got him chocolates and nice underwear (woo hoo burberry boxer briefs on sale).

Once for xmas, I got him a dessert wine, chocolates, massage oil, & the ky his/hers lube (which i hated btw).

  • One of my DH's favorite gifts I got him when we were engaged was a box full of reasons why I loved him.  I've added to it over the years, at different occasions.  He still talks about it.

  • I recently found this site where you can go take exciting and romantic adventures together like take a cruise dinner/ lunch together...you should check it out...www.cloud9living.com....good luck!
  • My DH always loves it when I make him some chocolate cover strawberries. He says he appreciates it when I take the time to make him something rather than me just going out and buying it.

  • For DH I got him a desk calendar from Snapfish with pictures of us and you can add captions/jokes, etc.

He really liked it ($15 I think)
