Thinking about going to Memphis - hotel rec

DH are thinking about taking a weekend trip to memphis in a few weeks.  We'd probably do Beale Street, Graceland and lots of BBQ.

Is there a semi nice hotel someone can recommend?  We want something more than a motel 6, but can't spend $500/night either.

TIA!  Laura

Re: Thinking about going to Memphis - hotel rec

  • Hi! DH and I are going to Tunica/Memphis over Thanksgiving. We are staying at Harrahs in Tunica. Weeknights are anly like $40, and weekends are a little more than $100. I can't wait!! I really want to go to the Memphis Zoo.
  • we stayed 3 nights at the Hampton Inn near Beale St for $189/night.  Luckily dh's work picked up the tab tho.  It was a very nice, clean hotel with a GOOD free breakfast.
  • The Peabody!  "The Mississippi Delta begins in the lobby of the Peabody Hotel in Memphis and ends on Catfish Row in Vicksburg."  (Sorry, that quote probably means absolutely nothing to you if you have no connection to the Delta lol)  It's about $300/night.

  • The Doubletree is fantastic!  It is downtown (about two blocks from Beale St.!).

Ditto TarHeels, the Peabody is fabulous as well (even more so than the Doubletree but it might be a tad more expensive.)

  • The Madison in Downtown is nice. Not sure about the rates though. I have a friend who loves staying at the Hampton Inn and Suites on Beale Street. There's a Hilton Hotel on Poplar/Ridgeway & 1-240 that's nice.
