What fruits and vegetables are you growing this year?
Instead of the flowers - annuals - we've planted in year's past, we're opting to plant more vegetables this spring/summer.
So far:
peas, green beans, edamame, roma tomatoes, garlic, onions, pumpkins (for Halloween, pure fun here).
I like the plants that keep producing, like the tomato and the beans.
What are you planting this year?

Me with my littlest.
Re: What fruits and vegetables are you growing this year?
We're going to do strawberries again this year. I hope to add a few more plants so we have more output. My daughter ate every strawberry as soon as they became ripe! LOL
Also this year, I'm going to do an herb garden - cilantro, chives, basil as a start. I think I may include garlic in with that list. My daughter has requested that I grow carrots, spinach and broccoli this year. Hopefully I'll have enough space for those. We don't have a huge back yard and it has a little slope.
We don't get a break here, so I've got lettuce, spinach, garlic and peas in the ground now. For the summer I'll probably put in carrots, tomatoes, potatoes, peppers and squash. I've had great success with those, so I'm going to stick with what does well this year. I don't think I'll do much experimenting this year, since I've done that for the past three years and have wasted some precious sunny space on failures.
Our oranges will be ready for harvest this month. My summer/fall fruits are strawberries (which mostly go to the birds/squirrels), raspberries and apples (I can't believe my little 5-variety Home Depot tree puts out apples just like grocery store apples!). My one experiment may be kiwis on my empty fence. Then I won't be wasting space that could be used by other fruits/veggies.
Hi! Your post made me sit with DH and make a list.. thank you!
We are going to plant strawberries, maybe blueberries, chives, parsley, basil, spinach, lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, and green beans.
Also, we need to plant some trees. Our property is totally bare, except for grass. Last fall I planted daffodils and shasta daisy cuttings in our front gardens. This will be our first spring/summer in our house. I can't wait!
