Re: TTT

  • 1.  Happy New Year and happy baby making, baby raising, etc to all of you. I hope for a year of many pregnancies, placements, and parenting smiles for all of you.

    2.  I had a family falling out that I just.can't.shake.

    3.  On a brighter note, we are re-starting TTC soon - we can't wait!

    4.  We have a little extra money on a fluke from a house re-fi - we are getting this gorgeous Pottery Barn coffee table.  a fun splurge.

    5.  I want Starbucks.

    6.  It is so cold out.  Roads are dry for winter biking though which is a plus.

    7.  My NY resolution is about being more dedicated at work....I better hurry up on this TTT :)

    8.   How long til spring?

    9. Is it bad to keep getting my parents gift cards to the same restaurant?  They really love it.

    10.  OK....now I must work....Aveda comfort tea to power me through.

  • 1. Oh my goodness, what isn't on my mind today??

    2. I just want this work week to go by so we can get to the weekend and resume house-hunting!

    3. We are asking our REA to show us a lot of places this weekend.  But we think after seeing them, we'll be ready to choose one to make an offer on. Exciting!

    4. We found another complex that we are really excited to check out.  Grand total of 3 complexes on the table right now.

    5. Oh my god I want to buy a house and make a room for our baby!!  I want to nest!!!

    6. I am going to be SIX MONTHS pregnant next week...WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN???  I can't believe we are getting so close to meeting our little boy!!

    7. Working on getting into a Bradley Method birthing class - having a little trouble becuase we will be moving 30 miles away in the middle of the course...  Trying to find something on a weekend so that the commute to class won't be as much of an issue.

    8. Signed us up for a cloth diapering workshop (thanks again for telling us about that place ssg!) next month - I can't wait!

    9. My family is going to think we are NUTS for cloth diapering...  And probably lots of other parenting choices we make Wink

    10. I'm constantly arranging our furniture in the different townhouses in my mind.  Is it the weekend yet?  How about now??

  • 1. I have to write an email explaining to someone why they didn't get an invitation to a VIP party and I'm procrastinating.

    2. Right now I really think I'm having a baby girl.

    3. In an attempt to keep better work records I'm now following the Franklin Covey method of organization.  We'll see how long it lasts.

    4. As odd as this seems I want to go home and clean.  We still have plenty of boxes to unpack from our 'move' and I'd like to get it done soon.

    5. I wonder if/when K and I will register for this baby.

    6. My truck really needs to be washed.

    7. I woke up 40 minutes late this morning.  I've yet to go to the restroom to see exactly what my hair turned out like :-p

    8. I still have a 2009 wall calendar up by my desk.  I don't want to take it down b/c I like looking at when we got our BFP - silly I know.

    9. My dog badly needs a haircut but since he loves the snow so much I think I should keep it long until the snow dies down - but it looks awful.

    10. I wonder at what point in this pregnancy I'll need to take off my wedding rings ??

  • Madison and Mrs F - i'm so excited for you both!

    1) Even though yesterday was a visit day, we had really good behavior last night AND good sleeping! I feel great today!

    2) Beginning thursday there will be two adults, two kids, and five animals in my house.  I'll take all the vibes you can muster.

    3) i also need to focus more on work.  it was my resolution to leave home at home and work at work....but its not going well.

    4) I need to start cooking dinners again.

    5) I get to see Rosebud during my lunch break and i cant wait. i love that little girl so much.

    6) DW's 2008 tax return was audited. such a tedious process.

    7) i keep forgetting to bring my 2010 calendar into work and the blank spot on my wall is annoying me.

    8) one of the pet peeves i should have included in that other post is when people try to show off their vocabulary.  i just recieved a one sentence email that contained the word "quorum" completely unnesessarily.

    9)  i havent decided yet if i'm going to call this year "twenty ten" or "two thousand ten".  What are you calling it?

    10) sprout sobbed when we took down the christmas tree and asks every day when its coming back out.

me too! thats been my guess for you from the beginning :)

     That's a great one....maybe I should try it.

    4) I need to start cooking dinners again.

That's always a sign of harmony and order in our lives.

    9)  i havent decided yet if i'm going to call this year "twenty ten" or "two thousand ten".  What are you calling it?

I am going for twenty ten - even though that makes me feel like I am trying to be overly hip.

    10) sprout sobbed when we took down the christmas tree and asks every day when its coming back out.

     could he BE any cuter?

  • 1. I actually remembered TTT and showed up before 11pm. Majah.

    2. My knee is doing better, and I'm feeling moderately confident about being able to walk the whole marathon on Sunday. I'm also excited to spend some time in Orlando seeing Jen's old undergrad haunts. Still wish I was running it, but I'm doing pretty good with it emotionally.

    3. I have someone shadowing me all day at work tomorrow, and I have no idea what I'm going to do with her. Uh-oh.

    4. We made our 2010 household budget yesterday. Funnest items: new living room rug, new bikes for each of us (we're giving my current bike to my sister and Jen's current bike to my mom), and a cruise in September.

    5. As part of my knee recovery, I'm supposed to wear orthotics all the time for a while (and then just for working out, for the rest of my life). Unfortunately, they only fit in about 3 pairs of shoes, and the other 20 or so pairs I own are just languishing in my closet. Lame.

    6. I'm sad that some companies don't make paper catalogs anymore. I like them so much better than browsing online.

    7. If I could afford it (in dollars and calories), I would eat a lox bagel and fruit salad for breakfast and sushi for lunch every single day. And a mid-afternoon piece of layer cake.

    8. I'm on the lookout for Japanese candy, especially the new Sweet Potato KitKat. I wish we had some Japanese stores in this area, but I don't know of any. Maybe I will try the international market near West Falls Church.

    9. I've gotten into the habit of staying up until 1:30a lately. I don't like to do my rehab exercises while Jen is around (I feel stupid, for some reason??), so I wait until she goes to bed and then I do them while I watch TV, and then one thing turns into another and it's 1:30a. I need to break this habit immediately - sleep is so important for health and I suspect there are a lot of mommies out there who think I am an idiot for not getting my 8 hours while I have the chance ;)

    10. A friend from work is joining my gym and asked me to help motivate her to go. I don't think she knows what she is in for...<evil grin>.

  • 1. Exhausted after a long trip to see family last week! I hadn't seen them in a year, so it was great.

    2. Turned my alarm off in my sleep this morning and had 10 minutes to get ready for work.

    3. MIL asked us for a substantial amount of money yesterday (~$4,000+) when DP's brother said no. We aren't giving it to her either. In a nutshell: She can reasonably fix her problem another way that is within her means.

    4. I had a dream the other night that I quit as MOH of my best friend's wedding. It made me laugh because that would 99.9% never happen!

    5. Looking forward to redecorating the bedroom in a few weeks.

    6. I have decided to start a new savings plan - new method that is slightly more aggressive and specific to our goals.

    7. There is something about this hotel where I'm staying this week (for work) - I think it's making me sick, or maybe it's just all in my head. When I was there 2 weeks ago, I felt sick every morning. I thought it was just because I'd actually been sick the week before. I felt fine last week at MIL's, mom's, and dad's. Back in the same hotel this week and sick this morning.

    8. I'm wearing the Uggs DP got me for Christmas at work today - sshhh! (My heels are under my desk in case I need to switch).

    10. I discovered last night that I actually like cooked broccoli now.

  • imageTwo*True:

    7. I woke up 40 minutes late this morning.  I've yet to go to the restroom to see exactly what my hair turned out like :-p

I woke up an hour late and just threw my hair in a ponytail. Just went down the hall about 15 minutes ago and laughed at myself. Hope your experience is a little better. :-)

    Yes glad to hear it!

  • 1. I started my C25K training yesterday.  Love it!

    2. DW started her raw food diet yesterday. Don't love it so much, DW+raw food diet=GROUCHY.

    3. The weather is beautiful today, 61 degrees and sunny.

    4. Exercising makes me a happier person.

    5. Our bunnies are having babies soon.

    6. We baptized Alila on Sunday, it was a nice ceremony.

    7. I want an omelette but I don't eat eggs...  Can I have the inside of an omelette with some hashbrowns please?

    8. Or maybe a breakfast burrito with no eggs or meat?  That sounds perfect!

    9. I hope DW has a better night at work tonight.

    10. I need to do laundry, there is a mountian of it in front of the washer.

    1. I LOVE my DW's cankles!
    2. I am SO ENJOYING watching DW's body change with the pregnancy...it is SO BEAUTIFUL!
    3. I think I am trying to stock up on my sleep...I have been SO TIRED lately!
    4. We painted the nursery on Saturday!
    5. We found the cribs on Saturday night!
    6. Walking into Buy Buy Baby was like walking into a candy store!
    7. I think I found the diaper backpack that I want.
    8. We found the dual stroller we want.
    9. I am excited about the baby (babies) shower our work is throwing for us.
    10. Now on to buying a van!

  • 1. I feel like the universe is testing me.

    2.  L had surgery yesterday and it went really well. Best possible outcome.  She'll be in the hospital for another few days.

    3.  We had to be up at 4am yesterday to get to the hospital.

    4.  I have a NASTY cold (thanks to my kids)

    5. Last night Gray woke at 12:30 and had a fever and thrown up all over his bed. It was up to me to clean him, his bed, etc.

    6.  Then he ended up in my bed where I jumped at every cough, moan, flip, and flop. I barely slept.

    7. Took Gray to the doc this morning and he has pneumonia.

    8.  Had to drive an hour to drop off my FIL to the hospital, drive back, get Gray's meds, and then my oil light came on (only does when I am really) low - so I had to take a sick kid to Jiffy Lube (thankfully, we were in and out quickly.)

9.I am beyond exhausted due to #3-8. Like newborn twins tired. I plan to be asleep by 8pm. I hope the kids cooperate at bedtime.

    10.  I am very glad my ILs are here to help (my MIL is staying with L at the hospital) but I made more small talk with my MIL during our 9 hour waiting room stint yesterday than I cared to and I find my FIL to be a dolt.  That being said, I have NO idea what we would have done if they weren't here.

...11. I am so sad that I didn't get to see my wife today at the hospital. I know it couldn't be avoided and I needed to stay home with our sick child, but I feel like a neglegent wife.

Don't be too hard on yourself.  I'm sure L understands Grayson will probably get better quicker with you watching out for him.  ((hugs))

wow. i'm so sorry for all you have on your plate (though thrilled that things went as well as possible for L).  I'll be hoping with all my might that you get to bed tonight at 8 and have a much-deserved night of sleep.

  • 1. i'm not sure how well i'm really dealing with my friend's passing, even though it was not unexpected.

    2. we went to my wife's parents' house over the weekend, along with her sister, just to get away. that's something i never could have said a few years ago, and it was a nice break.

    3. i'm finally getting back to the real world today...even though i didn't really want to.

    4. i love love love my son. in the morning when he wakes up, i pick him up to change him and he curls up into a little ball and nestles in against my neck, making little happy sounds. it's one of my favorite times of the day.

    5. he's oohing and gooing and aahing and giving us lots of big smiles and little squeals now. it's so amazing.

    6. he is loving the changing table. he gets so happy when we get him up there. plus, it's a good excuse to do raspberries on his stomach, kiss his little toes, and have a nice chat.

    7. we bought a new bed, and i can't wait for it to be delivered on thursday. we've been needing a new one for a looooooong time.

    8. it's a fancy bed, with an adjustable base and everything. i've never had a fancy bed before.

    9. we took down our tree and rearranged our living room yesterday. it's not really that different, but it's still going to take a little getting used to i think--but it gives us a much bigger playing area, which is nice.

    10. i started this twice already, and both times my browser crashed. stupid computer.

  • 1.  Today was my first day of student teaching.

    2.  I think it went well; I was mainly observing.

    3. I'm looking forward to teaching everyday, but quite nervous about all the planning.  I've never planned more than two lessons per day before!

    4.  I met the principal today and I think he is younger than I am!  Crazy.  He seems great, though (and not intimidating).

    5. My dog Peyton cries all the time to go out, then when I take her out she just barks.  She makes me feel like a dog-mom-failure.

    6.  I "made" minestrone for the third night in a row.  Thank goodness for leftovers!  Sometimes I'm just too tired to make something new.  I did make grilled cheese sandwiches, though, so that's something.

    7.  I was pretty nervous about my first day at school, so last night I ate a lot of oreos.  I mean, a lot.  I don't normally drink milk, but I had three glasses with all my oreos.  Then I got a TERRIBLE stomach ache, because I think I'm somewhat lactose intolerant.

    8.  My other dog, Chase, is the cutest thing alive, and makes me feel like a dog-mom-success.

    9.   I always have a hard time with the last two!  Um... I want an oreo.

    10.  I feel bad for saying this, but I'm looking forward to my niece getting a little older so that she's more fun.  She is sort of blobby right now...

  • 1. I'm worried about the dog; he's legargic tonight.

    2. C's RE appointment is Friday!

    3. I hope she's not still sick and we don't have to cancel the consult.

    4. Reading 2brides list makes me feel like I can't complain :)

    5. I haven't done a dang thing tonight.

    6. My house is a disaster. I need a housekeeper and I will push for it when we have kids!

    7. I didn't run because it is cold.

    8. And this is the beginning of winter.

    9. Still worried about the pup.

    10. Maybe I'll go to bed early tonight?
