We had some good ol' Betty Crocker yellow cake mix and chocolate icing in the pantry. This is my favorite kind of cake. DH made it on Sunday for us to eat for dessert. I was snacking on it yesterday; it was good, but something about it tasted... off. I asked DH what he did to it and he asked, "Why, is it not good?" I said it was fine, just the texture was different. I thought maybe he used apple sauce instead of oil or something.
No.
He added flaxseed meal to the cake mix. You know. For added fiber. For healthier cake.
