So if I am already on t mobile and not eligible for an upgrade yet how do I get one for less than 529?
Re: Google nexus one?
I'm on T-Mobile too, but it's the same for any carrier. If you are mid-contract and not eligible to renew your contract for a subsidized phone, you cannot get a phone for less than the unsubsidized price.
You'll just have to suck it up or wait. Personally, I'm going for the wait option as I'm up for a new subsidized phone at the beginning of June.
Pro-tip: Always ask for a 1-year contract instead of a 2-year contract. The price of the phone only jumps $50 (A great deal for smart phones), and you can get a cheaper upgrade every 1 year instead of every 2.
Another reason to wait:
When the iPhone was first released, it sold for something like $600. Only about two months later, the price dropped down to $400.
Something similar could happen to the Nexus One. Just something to keep in mind.
