Scholastic brings back The Babysitter?s Club!

If you?re, say, mid-twenties or older and female, chances are you?ve read at least one Ann M. Martin book.  Martin, of course, is the author of the The Baby-Sitter?s Club, the series about a gang of entrepreneurial 13-year-olds that taught girls everywhere the basics of capitalism.  Now, in what may be filed thus far in ?Best News of the Decade,? Scholastic is re-issuing the first two books in the out-of-print, 213-title series (213? whoa!) as well as a prequel.

Re: Have we seen this?

  • I might be dating myself, but I was more into Nancy Drew. I don't really remember reading TBSC's books.

  • I read both myself Nola, I also read the new and improved Nancy Drew series when they were printing that back in the late 80's-early 90's. I always enjoyed Nancy a bit more, I wanted to be just like her.

  • I didn't read any of that.  I first hear about it on this board.  I read Stephen King.  Hmmmm, that might explain a lot.
  • This is better than when they re-released SVH and changed the twins from a perfect size six to a perfect size two! I wonder what the outfit descriptions are going to be like now?
  • Busy, I read a couple of these in, like, 3rd grade or something. And then moved on to Stephen King.

I just know that people are fans; this popped up on one of my fatblogs.

  • I heard about it - I still have my entire collection at my mom's house, minus a few that are in my apartment that I sometimes read when I'm having a sick day.

  • Arbolita, the only one I don't have is the Super Special #2, because I read that book so many times it literally desinigrated. I would kill for it.
Warning No formatter is installed for the format bbhtml
  • I also preferred Nancy.
