I think I locked my keys in my car when I got to work because I was so concerned with making sure I had a letter I forgot to mail yesterday afternoon.  I called Mr. Arb, and apparently my spare key is somewhere in the apartment still.  

I wonder if Campus Police or Parking Services can help me out, because I really don't feel like spending $50+ to get it unlocked.

Ohh, I've done that. You might get lucky. I had to call a locksmith. He quoted me $60. When he got there I was all "ZOMGZ YOU ARE MY HERO I LOVE YOU"

When I got my bill it was $35. Moral of the story: suck up to the guy with the tools. YWIA!

do you have AAA? They might be able to help too.

I only did this once, and I had to wait an hour for DH to show up with my spare key. never again.

You might want to check with your insurance company...We get reimbursed for roadside service (towing, locksmith, etc.).

I know Mr. Arb has AAA, but I'm not sure if he added me to the plan.  My gut reaction says probably not because those are the sort of things he wouldn't do without me nagging him.

If the Mr has AAA and is there when they come to unlock it they will cover it.  I've called the police a couple of times too.

my campus security sometimes helps w/ these things...

but usually unofficially (as in, if it's a guy I know?  he'd do it.  If it's some random dude?  no--liability)
