My H is downright mystified that I'm still on "that wedding site" for this long. He thinks we just chat about weddings all the time or something. But last night he confided that he joined a Raiders "blog." After I informed him he can't join blogs, I realized it was a fan forum. With the topic of message boards in my head, I came to the horrifying realization that I've been part of online communities since 1994 -- like BEFORE the graphic interface you see now was widespread!
So... how many other forums (and what kind) have you been apart of since your Internetting days began?

Re: DH and Internet forums
Not that many...I can't really think of any...
M is on a forum for standup jet skis. He checks this site EVERY single night. He is such a dork!
DH is on this Louisville Cardinals forum all the time... yet he still doesnt get TK/TN. He just started posting about 2 weeks ago, yet he's been reading it for months. I really only use TN I think.

It's amazing that there are forums for EVERYTHING you could ever be interested in.
H said last night, "It was pretty cool. The one guy posted "JaMarcus Russell sucks," and I wrote, "I agree 100%." Then later I got to see if people responded to ME." Totally eye-opening. Haha.

LLOL at W's AWESOME first conversation.
My husband likes fark.com, which is actually pretty funny from what I've read over his shoulder.
I used to go to this site called missgirl.com, back when the internet was first born. I think it had a forum, but I can't imagine what was talked about.
LOL at W! That is hilarious.
My H didn't even know what a blog was. He bought a Blackberry purely so he wouldn't have to go into his office to check emails anymore. So suffice it to say, he does not participate in internet forums or message boards or chat rooms. I think he's been to my blog once and got distracted because he saw Eva Mendes on it. LOL.
Ikea fans forum?? Share the wealth!
Have you ever seen the blog Ikea hacker? I read that one religiously.

If you like Ikea hacker, you'll love this. DH is going to post our kitchen sometime soon, I'll let you know when it's up. There are some GREAT ideas on here. Enjoy!

I used to use AOL chat rooms back when people would respond to "IM me!" with "Great, I'm me too". I'm slowly getting into one for PhD students (I know, it's shocking).
Considering I check C's e-mail more than he does, he's not going to be forumming anytime soon. Anyway, he's a teacher and the school has the majority of the internet blocked.

Riiight... I probably could have googled that one
Haha, it's all good. They have great tips on deals too like when Ikea has a redo on the floor set and puts everything that was out in the As Is section!
Actively, I follow yelp, the dave matthews band forums, before I had my breast reduction and during my healing process I was very active on a plastic surgery healing website.
Any time I am making a major life decision or a large purchase I will usually follow random forums pertaining to that item for awhile before I buy it.
I used to be on a forum for Relient K fans.
The current forums I go on are this one, themommyplaybook.com (there's a Waiting to TTC forum there), atozteacherstuff.com, and I lurk on the bump.

DH likes gizmodo and some other technogeeky blogs/forums... his fav has a Latin name
I used to post on televisionwithoutpity.com before Bravo bought it, now I have technical issues with the site and sometimes its illegible. In college I was into scifi.com and posted on sliders fanfic boards (huuuuge geek).
When I first started going to AOL chat rooms, my screen name was BeUU (just those 4 letters, no numbers, no symbols)
kaylynne,
I heart TWOP. I've been a reader/very occasional poster since 2002 I think)

I have been posting on another forum since 2002. It started as a book/literature forum, but as we got closer it expanded into a forum about everything. I have met some of the women from the site and consider them close friends.
I have posted on and off on travel forums (thorn tree at lonely planet website) and a few fashion forums.
My DH does not get it AT ALL and actually is a bit weirded out by my "internet friends". I was embarassed about my boards for a long time, but finally I feel like other people are "catching up" and it's not so weird anymore to have real, true friends that you met online.
