WDYT?

Tomorrow, we are taking Ben & my nephew Brian to Clark's Trading Post. ?They have a little train ride within their property, it just goes straight, no curves or anything and goes pretty slow. ?It is not enclosed and there are no seatbelts. ?DH & I went there on our own once before and there were lots of little ones running around on the train.

DH thinks it's ok to take Ben on this, either just holding him or wearing the Bjorn. ?I am hesitant to put him in anything moving without being safely strapped into his carseat. ?DH thinks I am being overprotective. ?The same thing applies to Sunday, when we are taking my nephew to Boston. ?DH wants to go on the trolley ride, but again, we would have to hold Ben...

WWYD? ?Am I being overprotective? Would you ride the train or the trolley with your little one?

Re: WDYT?

  • On something like that, that is slow-moving and more of a "ride" rather than actual transportation, I would be fine with just holding a child (or even having them sit next to me if they are able to).

In your defense, though, your level of comfort with any situation is important too.  If you really are worried about it then don't do it.

  • I would feel fine holding him or putting him in the bjorn if he was wiggly

  • I think he'd be okay on those...but like Laura said, it's all about your level of comfort...
  • i've been on this train. It's VERY slow moving, and child friendly. Yes, in this case I do think you're being just a bit extreme. I wouldn't think twice of bringing a baby on board :) I think a Trolley is a bit different, a lot of trolleys i've been on are more like cars and in that case i'd be a bit hesitant. But either way, have fun at Clarks, it's a really great place to spend the day.
  • Thanks, ladies! ?I decided that I feel ok with the train, just not sure about the trolley. ?I've never been on one, so I don't know about it...

I love Clarks! ?Bears are so much fun! ?: )?

  • I would feel comfortable holding him or putting him in the Bjorn.  On the trolley you might even be able to have him sit in his stroller.
