Closing on New House!

Hi ladies,  I just wanted to let you all know that we are closing on a new house tomorrow!  I'm super excited and wanted to share :)

As excited as I am about the bigger house, I am a little stressed too.  I'm due in about 7 weeks with our first and moving during the 3rd trimester should be interesting.  I'm just glad we can finally set up the nursery in the new place but this little girl had better not come too early!  So I guess this is an exciting news/what the hell were we thinking post, haha.

Hope everyone is having a great 2010 so far!

Re: Closing on New House!

  • Congrats! Hope it goes smoothly!
  • Congrats on the new house! Moving in your third trimester isn't ideal, but it's doable. We moved into a new home a few days before I delivered my son and got his crib set up less than an hour before heading to the hospital. :) As my OB nurse said, babies have been known to sleep in drawers in the past, so they aren't too particular. LOL

  • Congratulations!!!  I wouldn't have had the energy to move in my 3rd trimester, but at least you have a good excuse to not have to do any of the "heavy lifting".  Big Smile

    Have fun decorating your nursery!!!

  • Congratulations....very exciting! It will be great to have a new home to bring your baby girl home to.

Try and relax and take it easy with the move. It can be stressful and certainly you know not to be lifting heavy things. We moved into our home when I was in second tri(like 16 weeks or so)... The first several weeks we were there I was painting walls, decorating rooms ect ect. By the time I was 22 weeks I was put on BP meds.

Something I just noticed in this post, Me and smilejenn both moved during our pregnancies. We both ended up with Pre-e and preemies. I dont mean to be an alarmist, and by no means am I saying that it's not a good idea to move while your pregnant...just wanted to put an extra bug in your ear to relax and let the men do all the work:)) I was too stubborn to listen to that advice.

LOL! That is true! I was diagnosed with pre-e prior to the move, so I spent most of it delegating from the couch. :) Although my husband swears that the 30 minutes I spent on the bathroom floor unpacking a box is what pushed me over the edge to severe pre-e. Not sure I believe him, but I plan on taking it very easy during our move this winter!

  • Congrats on the house!  We are in the beginning stage of the process as well.

And I want to join in on the "be careful, take it easy" stuff because I also moved during my pregnancy and did WAAAAYY to much even though everyone kept telling me to chill out.  I also delivered early, didn't have pre-e though and it was a twin pregnancy but STILL....be careful and don't over do it!

    GL with the move!!

  • Thanks ladies!  It's funny that you warned me about pre-e because at my doctor's appointment yesterday he said my blood pressure had jumped up quite a bit.  So now he's watching me closely for pre-e....which of course freaked me out!  I will definitely not be doing any heavy lifting, or lifting at all, during this move.  (I was pretty unhelpful during non-preggo moves though, so that will not shock my family, haha.)  I'm hoping that the high BP was just from stress and will not continue.  Fingers crossed :(
  • Congratulations on buying a new home!!! I know how stressful it can be and can only imagine how much more when your preggo! Take it easy... it will all eventually get done!
