crockpot dinner update

~~Busy.~~

Last night's meal was TERRRIBLE.  I MEAN FUCKKING TERRIBLE.  ONE OF THE WORST MEALS I EVER HAD.

It's not the crockpot's fault.  The recepie called for 1/2 cup of red wine.  When we ate the food last night it was all we tasted.  It was as if a train hobo cooked this meal out of a tin can over an open flame and kept adding liqour to it as it dried out.

 

Terrible.  (it was chicken, sausage, navy beans, carrots, onions, various spices, 1/2 cup of water, 1/2 wine)

i made a crockpot dinner once, and it looked like hot vomit.

i am going to try something again soon, maybe stew or something that should simmer for allong while regardless of using a slow cooker. wish me luck.

Yea, wine is very iffy for me in cooking. There are some tried-and-true recipes, but I understand it tasting too strong. Plus, what with you being able to breathe again, I imagine the flavor is amplified.

Plus I'm not a drinker because I don't like the taste of alcohol so the wine taste really ruined it for me.  Next I'm making oxtail stew.  That should be good.

Whenever a recipe calls for wine, I either use chicken or beef stock instead.
