Both MIL & FIL were able to rebook their flights with minimal damage. MIL got them to waive two of the rebooking fees and FIL got them to waive one (on the same airline, which I found interesting).
Side-note: FIL said sMIL was all pissed that LLB would be missing a full week of school instead of just four days. As he put it, "What's the big flapping difference!?"
Eighteen days, folks. Eighteen LONG days.
