Anyone want to help me come up with more girl names? We have a fairly solid boy list, but not so much on the girl side...
We have two top girl names (Fiona & Claire), but I'd like a list of 4 -5 names so we can choose the "right" one when baby arrives, in case we don't think Fiona or Claire is a good fit.
Here's the list of other names we've considered (in no particular order), so you can get an idea of the type of names I'm looking for. Names on this list were either chosen by one of us (with the other not really liking, but not vetoing) or we both like the name, but don't think it's quite "right" for us.
Isla
Rebecca
Kaylie
Alison
Catriona
Amelia
Kathleen
Madeline
Evelyn
Adriana
Lucy
Andrea
Erin
Elizabeth
I'd love to hear any suggestions you ladies have! TIA!
Re: Brainstorming baby Girl names
I love Amelia! I see so many kides names in my job, recently 2 tickled my fancy:
Jacey
Nailah
Kate
Alexa
Jillian
Corinna
Elisabeth
I am not sure if you are concerned with the popularity of a name, but Isla, Madeline, Amelia are pretty popular.
Charlotte!
We also liked Bridget, Georgia, Sloane, Lily, Lucy, and Savannah.
We don't want anything too popular. Which is why Madeline is on list #2 same with Amelia (although DH hates that one, so it was never going to win)
I haven't really heard of Isla being popular (at least not around here), although it could be moving up quickly. It's on the "we like but won't use" because it's a bit too unique for us, I want something more recognizable and easy to spell.
I guess the popularity could be regional, you are right! I love it though=) I also love the name, Jane. I was kind of concerned about Kate's name being too popular. But I thought of it as more "classic."
Names are so hard!
LOVE Bridget. it was on my list, too!
Cara
Emily

Norah
Ruby
Jade
Maeve
Abby/Abigail
Maya
Rachael
Greta

I like the name Ruby a lot.
On your list I like Lucy, Erin and Elizabeth.
I am not pregnant (nor TTC at the moment) but for years I've wanted to name my future daughter Mia. My husband & our families even talk about baby Mia sometimes.
My other girls names (in case I have more than one) are:
Boys names are really the hard ones for us. But I guess we have some time to decide
Good luck!
I'm reading a book right now with a character named Elspeth. I have a cousin named Elizabeth, so I'm positive that nobody on that side would ever get the name right, but I am really liking the name Elspeth right now. It makes me think of bells ringing - it's a softer version than Elizabeth.
We considered Maya for a long time before deciding on Annora. Good luck, baby names are hard! I don't know what we're going to do for baby #2...
AshleighMae: We have quite a few names in common!!!
Our LO will be named Mia Rose
We also liked Isabella, Olivia, Kara, Arianna - I'm liking Amelia (NN is Mia...funny huh?) Lorelai [NN Rory...yes I was a big Gilmore Girls fan]. Mckenzie, Ella...
If we have another girl, here are the names we like
Quinn
Olivia
Brayden
Leyla
Mikayla
Lea
If I think of more I will def let you know.
Chantal!!! SO neat to find you on here! I just started doing these boards but knew it was you right away (with the Annora). Anyways, hi!
Ashleigh
All_Planned....I think Mia is the best name ever. Great taste you have! I LOVE Amelia with the NN Mia...never thought of that! My middle name is Mae & it is a tradition for all girls to keep may so our only hesitation with Mia is that her name will be Mia Mae which sounds a bit funny.
I love Amelia....of course Ruari is always a good choice
(All_Planned...I'm also a Gilmore Girl fan, and wanted the name Rory, but we went with the Irish spelling, as DH is Irish).
If this one's a girl, she'll be Maggie (yup...keeping with the Irish!!).
Emily?
along the same lines, but not. good luck
My favourites are:
Isla
Annica (Annika)
Maira
Leah
Fiona was one of my top names too!
Natalie yourlastname also sounds pretty sweet. Just sayin'
James Alistair - October 2, 2011
same here with Jefferson! My SIL's twin sister named her little girl that, so I thought it would be confusing if we used it too for Kate. I would have used it for Kate in a heartbeat.
DD is Claire so I love that one.
If we have another DD she will probably be a Nora.
I also love Audrey but can't convince DH.
Dude, I knew about Faith, but you never told me that! It's gotta be because you and I are kindred spirits, yes?
Yay for my name *fist pump*
