Coming to Chicago - what do I need to see?
I'll be in Chicago the last weekend in February for 4 nights. I'm going to a Youth Worker Conference at the Hyatt Regency O'Hare Airport Hotel and that's where we're staying too.
I have never been to Chicago and haven't done any research yet. (starting here first) I'll have some down time...is there any good shopping, sites or food within walking distance? (we won't have a car)
Thanks for your help!

Your hotel is only a block or 2 away from the Rosemont blue line train. Like pp said, take that downtown to the Jackson stop downtown and walk 3-4 blocks east to Millenium Park/Grant Park where you can ice skate. Or go to the Art Institute of Chicago.

You can walk north from there and do some shopping on Michigan Ave. Go to the top of the John Hancock building and have dinner or drinks at the Signature room (it's pricey though)
It'll take at least an hour to get to & from downtown on the blue line, so I'd give yourself the whole day
