I'm on a roll with messages tonight!
Is getting a "great" birthday/anniversary/holiday gift for your DH tough? For me... oh yes!!! He doesn't leave hints, or if he does, it's things that aren't realistic. Last night we somehow got on the topic of what we want for our birthdays (which are in the winter, go figure)... he suggested I come home with a new car for him (that HE would want, not what I would find practical), but if that didn't work out, that fancy $5k stereo system would do. Um, yeah, keep dreaming. Give me something to really work with here.
I think a mention of a Wii came up. We do NOT need another gaming system. We've got 5 of those suckers already. Yes I hear the Wii is different, but I also don't feel like going to every store in a 3 state area to get one the day it arrives. I'm also a last minute shopper (yes you will see me Xmas shopping on Dec. 24), so I need concrete, realistic ideas I can get from your garden variety box chain store.
Re: Shopping for DH...
If you go to Best Buy at 10AM on a Sunday morning when the Wii is in their ad, they will have approximately 12 of those bad boys sitting on the shelf. We managed to find one back in Missouri over 4th of July.
DH is really difficult to buy for as well. He won't tell me what he wants, so I drag him shopping and watch how he behaves. We were at Macy's in Bloomington a few weeks ago and he stopped and looked at watches for a good 10 minutes. Guess what he's getting for his birthday or Christmas?
I like to surprise people with their gifts, but it's so hard to get him something that he'll like and have it be a surprise.
