I ahve been invited to a scone party by a friend who just returned from the British Isles. She will have tea, scones, clotted cream and jams and lemon curd. I do not want to show up empty handed...any ideas of what I can bring to add to the party with in her theme?
Re: Scone party??
What if you bring chocolate covered strawberries?
Whenever I go to a tea room they always serve strawberries with the scones. I figured covering them in chocolate would just be a nice (not to mention delicious) choice.
I had an afternoon tea for my wedding reception in Englnad, so I added my American slant to it, which was to make cookies and brownies to go with the scones and cream. That was a real hit.
Last year I invited my friend over for a creamed tea and blogged about it. This might help: http://afroamericanism.wordpress.com/2009/04/09/afternoon-creamed-tea/
I love this idea. Jam, marmalade or fruit butter would also be a great choice.
