Love hate relationship with my Dyson

I love how much it picks up.  I hate seeing it though.

I vacuumed under the furniture for the first time in a long time and ick, ick, ick.  Sadly all I could think was "I wonder what would get picked up in EmilyKate's house?"

Re: Love hate relationship with my Dyson

  • I shudder to think of what a Dyson would p/u at EK's house.  They could probably use it as a testing ground.  See how far they can push the machine until it breaks.  Supposedly they're able to suck up any mess...That would definitely push its limits.  LOL
  • Oh, I'm fascinated by how quickly the canister fills up.  I love my Dyson.  But I will say this - I hate the flarking extension pole thing for the attachments.  I want something I can hold in my hand.  Not a 3 foot pole w/the brush at the end that makes me stand way back.  IDK.  Just seems like it could be better engineered.  Esp. for the price.

  • When I think about the last 2 vacuums I had that weren't picking anything up really, I love seeing what my Dyson grabs.

And I agree about the wand deal, for reaching down between the dog crates it is great, but other times it just feels odd.

  • I just stick the attachments to the end of the tube and it works fine. I hate having to disassemble the entire goddamn thing every time I want to use the attachments though, which is why I don't vacuum my stairs nearly as often as I should.

  • Well, sure.  Of course you stick the attachments at the end of the tube.  I'm just saying the tube is awkwardly long and inconvenient for those tight, small places.  Like my vag.

  • I meant the end of the hose. They're both tubes I guess, so what I originally wrote wasn't clear at all. I leave the long handle/tube off and it's less awkward.
  • You can completely remove the hard pole (dirty) from the collapsible outer shell.  Then put the attachment right on the collapsible tube.  I like not having to hold the vacuum and vacuum the steps at the same time.

  • I had no idea you could do that.  Wow.  Guess I'm going to go home and play around with my tube tonight.
