Haha! Yay Roommate?

I have a roommate who thinks I'm insane.  Seriously, when he first moved in he asked where our cleaning supplies were and I pulled out a bottle of vinegar and he was just very, very, very confused by me.  But he's learning!!!  He just came home with some dishwasher detergent and he came up to DH and I and showed us asking if he got the right thing.  He did!  He got our exact brand.  He seemed pleased and said "I got it because it said 'econo' on the bottle"!  Haha... uh... that's "eco" but close enough!

Of course, we'll be dealing with the 8 pack of paper towels later.  I figured I'll ease him in slowly.  He's only been here a month.

Re: Haha! Yay Roommate?

  • Ugh I used to have three male roommates... NONE of them cleaned. Consider yourself lucky!

One star bandit, suck it. Now it's at 3!

  • Look at you changing the world one man at a time! First your roomate, then THE WORLD!! lol

  • Yay for you!! DH isn't looking at me like I'm crazy anymore with my microfiber towels and homemade cleaners. Its a good feeling.

Now if I could only convince my PT-using, clorox-cleaning, germaphob mother...hmmm....I'm still brainstorming on that one.

  • That's great! I've found that a lot of people that aren't green on their own are proud of trying. My friends are always proud to tell me that x or y that we're having when I come over is local or green. Big Smile

I always say it's the small things that add up to big things!  So good for your friend.  I think the first step for everyone is to just become aware.  Then everything just snowballs.  At least that's what happened with me!

  • Yay!  Good for him for trying!

DH is a paper towel HOG!  The other day, we were cleaning and I took the paper towels out of his hand and gave him a microfiber cloth.  At the end of the day he told me that he felt really good that he didn't waste all those towels because he knew he would have used a ton of them.  Since then, he has been really trying to not use PTs at all...and our roll is lasting forever!
