Does she ever mention her parents? What about Dan's? Several of the comments ask about that, but she didn't answer. I would be interested to hear their take on this life for their grandchildren.

I'm not surprised.
Her parents are divorced. Her dad went to Oxford (according to her), and her mother is "wealthy" (but considering how poor and dumb she is, I wouldn't be surprised if "wealthy" meant that she makes $2000/month).
Dan's dad was abusive, loved sports, and told his mom she should just knit all the time.
Ditto.
That would make me Trump-like.
Good to know we were right about male role models really making a difference in a kid's life.
in the one 'ooh,giving birth' post she mentions, with shockand surprise,that her FIL?(or was it her dad?) wascapable of babysitting....
So I'mguessing they have J&KH8 syndrome where someonedisapproves so they cut themall off.

She talks about her maternal grandmother as if she's some high-society New Englander (which I doubt), and there have been allusions to her family not "getting it."
