have you had a facial peel?

I just had one yesterday for the first time and it looks like I got punched in face - the areas around my eyes are all red.  it's a good thing I don't plan on leaving the house today. :/

Re: have you had a facial peel?

  • What's that supposed to be for?  Getting rid of dead skin?  I haven't had one but I just bought some little knockoff microdermabrasian thingy from BBB.  It works good but I'm a little peeved that a part seems like it's wearing out already.  So, I'm returning it.
  • per google:

A chemical peel is a treatment in which an acid solution is used to remove the damaged outer layers of the skin. Typically administered as a facial peel, a chemical peel enhances and smoothes the texture of the skin. It is an effective treatment for facial blemishes, wrinkles, and uneven skin pigmentation.

if she were to do it hard-core, apparently I'd be peeling for about a week, but I have a job interview tomorrow so I told her to tone it down.  I'm hoping makeup hides the redness.

  • My mom gets them all the time and she always looks all red and blotchy for awhile after. She loves them, though.

  • I tried one, but had to get it taken off immediately. (Apparently I was only the 2nd client in 15 years for the estetican) Not a pleasant experience Crying

oh yikes!  it did burn a bit, that wasn't pleasant.  I really hope I don't look like a freak tomorrow, or a victim of domestic abuse.

  • I knew 1 girl back in college that did this and it looked like she had a layer of plastic on her face for a few weeks.  She was older, in her late 30's.

    Joy - that sounds miz.

  • my friend used to get them all the time before.  she'd be red/splotchy/plasticy for a few days afterward.  she LOVED them.

You should be fine.   When I had microderm the first time, I thought I looked like I had road rash all over my face, but it was a millon times better after a few hours.

  • Nope. I saw Sex in the City where Samantha gets it done and has to wear a widows vail to cover her face.

Yes, I belive everything I see on TV. ::snort:::

    H+Ps friend!

  • here's a pic sans makeup:

  • That doesn't look that bad.  I think make up will cover it up just fine.
