OMG EARTHQUAKE

I just felt my first earthquake. I've supposedly been in 3, but never felt them before. It was not fun. It felt like a truck slammed into my house, then everything rocked for about 10 seconds. It was very creepy actually.

Now I feel like a real Californian.

Re: OMG EARTHQUAKE

  • Two more and you'll have felt the same amount as me, the lifelong Californian.

  • Wow! I've never felt one. I guess I'm just really sturdy.

  • Oh, just what I want to hear...
  • Wow. Two things I don't miss about CA - Earthquakes and the Santa Ana Winds.

I vividly remember the Landers quake, the Whittier Quake and the Northridge quake. ~shudder~

  • We had one with several aftershocks here a couple years ago.  The main one woke us up from a deep sleep.  Totally creepy.
  • We had an earthquake about 2 years ago.  I was asleep and it jolted my ass awake.

I guess IN is on some big ass fault line.

We're probably talking about the same one.  Your in StL, right?  I remember it was a pretty far reaching quake.

I remember one of  aftershocks vividly because I got up from my chair at work and started walking and our whole building wobbled.  It was a surreal feeling.

  • Wow.  I hope it wasn't a big one.
  • I was in an earthquake once. I thought I had a brain tumor because there is no way I could have felt one in WA. Yeah, it was an earthquake and I'm a hypochondriac.
  • I was woken up by an earthquake in Flagstaff. No one believed we'd had an earthquake, except my Californian friend, who'd also been awakened (well, until they saw the news. It was a 5.0!).

  • We just had one here on the 30th, did you feel that one L? I think the only reason I felt it was because I was on the 2nd floor of a building.

Yup, that's the same one I felt.  We lived about 50 miles from the epicenter.  It was totally weird.  I only felt one aftershock.  The other one was 5 years ago, but I slept through it.
