His boss had been out for over a year. Boss is officially not coming back. They were going to bring in someone from a mill we closed, but apparently the guy is more important at another mill. Lord only knows when they are going to find a replacement. There aren't a lot of people that have the necessary experience.
DH is freaking that there is no end in sight to his overworking. He doesn't know if they'll offer him the job- that he doesn't feel qualified for.
The mill is freaking that DH will get overstressed and leave- especially now that I'm gone. I told him to at least ask for a temp assistant to do paperwork, but who knows what's going to happen.
There are lots of things up in the air, but DH did admit that it was nice having me home. I'm less stressed, 6let is happier and learning so many new things, and he doesn't have to worry about things here. Not to mention we have more sex.
Re: DH's job
Crap...I Mean Crafts
You could easily do it. Dh spends a good 1-2 hrs a night doing unskilled paperwork- data entry, contract writing, etc. Not to mention the time he spends on it during the 11 hrs he spends at work.
It's 90% certain he's going away for 3 weeks in April too.
WOW this is almost like what happened with my husband...
the director was laid off, and another manager resigned. so this means that DH gets the majority of responsibility for his department because he's lead manager. he finally decided to just apply for the vacant director position. sine he's working the hours, he may as well get the pay increase for it.
but they've been promising that the end to the horrific schedule is near and they are hiring more managers, but so far we just hear "blahblahblah keep working because we're too cheap to hire more people".
so anyway. it's nice that they see your husband's worth to their company by worrying about his stress levels.
They only care because they're screwed if he leaves. s-c-r-e-w-ed. The job is very specific so it's hard to find qualified people.
If anyone knows someone with a background in biomass powered boilers and turbine generators I know of a job.
Sometimes caring or your screwed works out well. When I first started here, I was the only person with my skill set (another very specific job with very few qualified people). That period was when work followed through on most of the their promises to make the job sane and livable.
Unfortunately, old habits die hard and is why 2010 has been designated the 'exploring my options' year.
