Also, there are different types of waves that make an earthquake. <- Thank you SDSU for that class in natural disasters.

Earthquakes are my biggest apprehension about moving to CA. Followed closely by wildfires and Schwarzenegger.

I'd be more worried about the wildfires and Governer, Stinky. I've lived here for my entire life and have never felt an earthquake I am currently suffering under Schwarzenegger and have felt the sting of wildfires, though!

Yeah, the smell of smoke on a warm day flips me out a whole lot more then the shaking I felt back at the end of the month.

Ditto, only I was driving so I didn't feel the shaking.

I've heard more earthquakes than I've felt.  I have been known to freak out when sitting in rooms next to elevators or when a giant truck rumbles by for just this reason.

Wildfires...well, those never occured much where I lived, and theoretically, the can be outrun.

The Govenor.....isn't there some sort of statute of limitations?

Yeah, Ahnold is out this year. He just gave his last State of the State address yesterday I believe.

The one today was kindof a loud crash and then a gentle rocking. So yeah, I guess I technically heard it before I felt it. It was all very fast, though. Maybe 10 seconds. I spent the first half thinking a truck had crashed into the wall behind my house.
