(In a hotel room in downtown Portland before we went out to dinner.)
After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!
We went up to northern Michigan for a "snowboarding trip" early spring. We had been up the previous year, and started talking about marriage at this one particular restaurant where we'd had a fabulous meal.
We walked into the same restaurant for dinner, and it was only 5:00, so it was completely empty, and H gave his name to the maitre'd, and I was all like, "Dude, place is empty. I think we can get a table." So they took us to THE same table we had sat at last time, and there was a bucket of champagne and flowers on the table.
I pretty much knew something was up then. We both went to the restroom, and when I got back I could see from across the room he had a rose in his hand and inwardly I was FLIPPING OUT. So I sat down and he got on his knee and proposed. I can't remember the words because it was all a blur of crying. I do remember he had the ring on the rose stem and handed the rose to me and I was like, "HOLY CRAP."
When we left the restaurant, I screamed, "WE ARE SO ENGAGED!" Hee hee, it was amazing! And what I really loved is it was a weekend trip, so we were able to spend the whole time together, just enjoying being engaged, before I turned into a wedding planning nazi.

He was having a housewarming party at the house he had just moved into with his friends. He took me up to his room to show me a gift his friend had given him. He turned off the lights and I assumed he wanted to get frisky. As I was pulling down my top he turned the lights back on and was on one knee.

We flew to Kauai for Christmas Vacation.
One day we were walking along Tunnels Beach, and he dropped down one one knee.
In his hand he had two big seashells. He opened it up, and there was a ring. He designed the ring to look like a diamond set on waves. The ring was sitting on top of a little purple jewelry pillow he had sewn while studying for his engineering finals.
He started tearing up when he described how much I meant to him. Then he asked it I'd marry him.I was so excited that jumped on him, and we both fell into the water.
To this day, he still thinks he didn't do a good enough job with the proposal. I think he's crazy.
You are my favorite.

In a gazebo on a cliff above the beach in Laguna.
The rest of the story..It was at our wedding venue the night we were signing the contract for the wedding. The ring took a long time to have made to we were already planning before we officially got engaged. He told the coordinator about it and she had light tiki torches there, etc. Found out later the staff from the bar and restaurant above totally knew what was going down and were spying on us. It was cute that the gazebo was then used for our wedding cake.
Ha ha, yes he did have pants on. It is one of the few times sexy time wasn't on his mind.
I bitched and cried for months until he was browbeaten into submission and took me out to dinner at Dukes and then got on one knee on the feezing ass beach at HB. Then we ran and got in the car because it was cold.
It was such a surprise!

My hubby proposed on a cliff in Maui at Sunset. It WAS so romantic and I felt like a complete azzhat afterwards. Seconds after his proposal I jumped on the phone to call everyone of my family and friends while he just sat there.......for almost an hour.
It went something like this:
